  4. 12.4 out of El Dorado? How in the hell did it live that long? Lakewood/Long Beach right? Use to fish live gold fish there as a kid..maybe 3 pounds was huge back then(80's). 9.7 Norman deep little N..oh so close to the holy grail 7.9 6 inch hudd I have seen numerous double digits caught there I have been throwing swimbaits there since 2003. The biggest I ever saw caught and weighed was a 16.8 on thanksgiving 2004 by someone named Robert who became my mentor throwing swimbaits. This fish was weighed on a scale three times measured 29 inches long my father and I saw this fish explode on his OG osprey clear trout looking one. One of the most bug eyed bass I have ever seen it was old near the end of her time but god if you had seen a fish like this out of El Do in person you would have a lot of confidence in that place. The early to mid 2000s were fun at El Dorado a lot of big fish were caught. This person Robert became my mentor throwing swimbaits for largemouth taught me a lot he was friends with Scott Whitmer and had the Triple Trout before it was on market. El dorado has seen a lot of great anglers come through there including Joe Uribe Jr and a host of other tournament guys its a tough lake but if you can stick them there you can anywhere. Wish I knew what happened to Robert I remember either him or his friend brought up the 16 on bloodydecks and got bashed. I tried to back him up but you kmow the internet is a bunch of haters and if you don't have a sick digi pic everyone calls BS. Kinda like what happened to my friend Ronnie up at Castaic he has video of him catching striper in lagoon but he never uploaded video because he didn't have right format and he was tired of the internet bashers. Sorry just ranted but yeah El Dorado has pigs but they are not easy......except when you show them something they haven't seen before than they go dumb for a bit until they pick up on it.
  5. you saw that new butch brown video too than .......

  7. 12.4 largemouth on shitty abrogaust ac plug el dorado park lake 20.4 striped bass slide swimmer 250 ketabasu color Castaic dam
  8. This is late pic but it was my tops for the stocking season and new personal best striper at 20 pounds 4 ounces. I was fishing the Castaic Dam with a couple of friends of mine who helped me get it on shore I had already lost a few 20 plus this season. I have been fishing Castaic since I was a kid in 1997 when I first got a Fred Abrogaust AC plug and went with my Dad on rental boats trolling for them however I never seemed to break that 15 lb range. Around 2003 I started using that ac plug at my local city lake for largies and for a good six years I was into big baits for big mouth more so than stripers due to city lakes being closer and having a jon boat to fish lagoon. The last three years I threw big baits less and less and fished less up until around a year ago. I got back into the game but this time because I got striper fever after seeing a 30 pound plus striper on cover of WON. I went to where this fish was caught actually met the angler now I consider him a friend and rival due to the competiveness of catching huge stripers or largemouth. However I did not realize how much new baits and techniques I had missed out on. At first I was fishing like it was 05 - 09 with hudds TT Slammer AC osprey I had no idea about the glide game nor about Japan companies such as Deps and Roman Made. I am not saying that these aforementioned baits do not work any more for me just that i was really keyed on new stuff this season. This fish made me feel like I am back and better than ever I missed some nicer fish at wood and Castaic and I hope in Fall to get a 30 plus sorry for rambling I did a lot of soul searching out on the water this year with a lot of solo trips had some life issues last couple years and can honestly say that my passion for big baits saved my life.

  20. Hey there guys this is happened last week but i have not had time yet to share the report. April the 2nd at Castaic Lake my friend went up by himself to throw big baits while he was there the trout truck came dumped a load he texted me let me know. When i got this message i was sitting in my class at Compton Community College wishing i was at lake but the instant i read that i was off. Took me about hour and half get there in the mean time my buddy landed a 10 12 and 14 pound striper at the last wash. Another guy who showed up got a nice one on hudd next to my friend i show up start throwing my friend says he going to get somethingeat second he turns arouund boom 8 pounder slammed it 4 feet from shore. By the way i was using my Deps SS that i had recieved day before in mail so i knew this bait was something special. By the time my friend came back i landed another one burning the bait on surface as fast as possible. After landing this fish i checked hooks and i see one split ring is twisted wrecked from the striper. Make a quick terminal swich back to fishing my friend gets a little dink striper he throws it back and shortly after i have a 12 slam my bait 10 yds from shore. I ended up with three stripers kept betwen 8 and 12 pounds my friend got 3 he kept one released and 2 largemouth released. The next day April 3rd i show up at lake around 10 in moring but i parked near west ramp and decied to walk across road to the dam. Before i do that i take some casts off the rocks near buoy line first casst im slamed 20 yds off shore i see a fat belly jumping out of water at first i thought it was an enormous largie but when igot closer it was biggest striper of my life. I fish 30 pound test and i usually try to work a fish in as fast as possible so when i was dragging this beast up on shore he decided to an alligator roll and it broke my line 6 inches up from my deps in its mouth. I drop my rod jump on the striper thats in inches of water and i straddle it as it trys to squirm undeer me into deep water. I bear hug it and somehow throw it on shore with my deps still in mouth. i grab my fish and rod walk over to my freinds who somehow did not see this happen and i shock them as i triumphmanly hold up the fish while walkind down face of dam. This was my biggest striper so far ever weighed in at a tad over 17. However later that day im sure as hell i lost my 20 plus because i hooke one that i could not stop and it straightned my hook. That day i went on to get one more on deps and another on punker right before closing. However the last half hoour before closing was insane with 10 20 30 pound stripers frothing on trout 50 yds off dam. I was able to reach them with my punker setup and i went on to hook 3 on one cast with the punker. Somehow i could not land any of those but i got one a few minutes later. During that time period however there were double and tripple hookups going on with other swimbait guys around me. Have not seen a scene like that with feeding fish since fishing cedros island yellowtails. I also have not seen the stripers act like this in a good while maybe since that year castaic got 10,000 pounds of trout in one week in 05. Sorry for the longwinded bad puncuation report just wanted to share the fun times.... also the Slide Swimmer for its price should have better hooks and rings and one of the eyes on mine fell out from being eaten head first too many times any suggestions on where get eyes for it ?
  21. thanks for the replys guys turned out trip was kind of a bust. Headed up monday picked up my friend in fresno around 2 got to the sugar barge on bethel island in delta around 530 the wind wasa insane from LA to Delta gusts up to 60. First night spent flipping around docks and tules in the marina from shore due to high wind scrapped up some dinks no love for me with rago rat eagle jr baby eagle baby osprey mission fish......Second day wind is to gnarly to launch spend day looking for calm areas and checking out tackle stores. Yesterday wake up gorgeous day work our way a ways down from marina flipping mission fish and working old school 316 blue gill and baby eagle swimbait water is like chocalte got nothing in 6hours of fishing my friend got 2 on kreature bait. Around 2yesterday we decide to drive to Eastman lake and i was impressed only there for an hour and had 4 follows on the deps before i got a call and i needed to get back to LA ASAP all in all was great seeing old friend and travelling to new water but sucked in terms of fishing......however me and my friend did not have same agenda he wanted to try sight fish even though thewater was adirty and was not willing to spend more time fishing instead of complaing about crappy fishing but its ok i think im going next week by myself to Eastman i have good feelingabout there.....
  22. thanks for the heads up at eastman so ill be sure to have my ninja outfit handy lol
  23. thanks for info guys i wasa reading somewhere that eastman hasa 24 hour fishing from shore and its only 30 bucks to camp there a night. I might be spening first 2 days there before going to delta or vice versa. When i come back to fresno for the weekend of the 13th so my friend can go to work i think will be spent at millerton before coming back to LA sunday or monday. Just doing some google earth scouting of eastman right now try to get familar with the shoreline not going to have depthfinder but i can always go with finding main and secondary lake points creek channels flats and other visible fish holding areas. I hear there are a lot of rockpiles at this lake that are visible so im not that worried about no depth finder. Not trying to bed fish but if come across a big female on one wont hesitate to fish for it lol. Got my new Deps in mail today and hopefully i get my fixed glideator back before i leave. Just hoping that my rod repairman can finish with calico special and mojo bass before i leave thank god for SU so i have somewhere ramble on about swimbait fishing. I know that its tough to go show up at lake you never been to before and stick swimbait fish but this is best time of year and im confident in myself and TOW i have spent at many bodies of water will help my odds. Enough rambling for now just stoked on hitting some new water.
