  1. Rod has been sold! Thanks SU!!
  2. Do you guys think people actually limit themselves to two per person? Something tells me a few folks dip a little farther into the basket! LOL Missed this one by about 15min. I checked my email and logged on at 2:45 PST and they were already sold out!
  3. I've gotten a ton of PM's already asking for pics. I'm still at work though and will post pics when I get home.
  4. I've got an 8' Low Down Custom Heavy for sale. It's a split grip, wrapped to the right, with a red foam fore grip with red accents on the thread wraps. I bought it used off the other site and just don't like the long handle. I know most people say that it's a "must have" but I find that I just don't use it because its very hard to manage from my kayak. If I fished from a bass boat I'm sure it would be my preferred rod. There are a few hook point holes in the fore grip as well as some rub spots on the rod from baits being attached during transport. Ill take $160 for it local pickup in NorCal (I'm in Petaluma) or $175 shipped in a TackleWarehouse rod tube insured. Shipping price is Paypal and please add 4% for the fees. Only trade I'd be interested in is for a Dobyns 2cd Gen (no cork handle) 806, 807, or 867 but no Mike Long editions as I don't want the longer handles! Ill add pics later as I'm at work right now.
  5. Is there a launch ramp down near Bethel Island that will allow me to get on the water before daylight? Maybe a launch with an iron ranger or something? Looking to make my first trip to the Cal Delta tomorrow morning and want to get out early? I'm in a kayak so looking for something with fishing relatively close (less than 3miles).
  6. It said it could take a day or two before they post it.
  7. So I just logged on to BTD and created an account there. I posted a review on the bait in question calling it a blatant copy of the Wake Jr and stating that it should be pulled from the shelves. According to their website they DO allow negative reviews as long as there is no explicit language. It does require review by their admins before they will post it. Lets see if they will actually let my review go up on the website!!!
  8. You mean someone deleted my thread on the other site?!? It's a good thing it was in the middle of the night and it reappeared before I woke up or I would have just started another one! I also have two PM notifications on the other site in my email inbox but the messages aren't there when I try to check them. I wonder what that's about? They say they have been removed by author.
  9. Sure hope 3:16 is getting a serious cut of the profits! That IS a Wake Jr!!
  10. Obviously rod leashes work and are the most old school solution to the problem. There are also the rod floats that zip tie onto the rod in front of your reels. These are made of pool noodle material. They are bulky but work. Then the newest thing in the kayak community back in the South East are Overboard Rods. They have a production line or you can custom order a rod to your specs. The handles themselves are made of a floating material. Great idea if you ask me. I don't own any, but I have tried a few different models. They were sensitive and felt good in the hands. The handles were slightly larger in diameter than a standard rod but that was to achieve enough floatation to float the rod and reel. They are made by a company out of Jacksonville Florida and sponsored most of our kayak tournaments.
  11. Both coupons are gone folks. Hope y'all have fun!
  12. MANNNN!! That thing looks amazing!!!!
  13. I've got one more coupon if anyone else is looking. My wife just texted me the coupon code. Send me a PM if you need it!
  14. Glad it worked out for you Maverickrod! That was one heck of a price you got!! If anyone else needs a coupon let me know and I'll see if the wife still has hers.
  15. I need to pick up a new scale to keep in the kayak on my outings. I've seen where the Salter Brecknell is the only digital hand scale that can be certified by the IGFA. While I'm not anticipating breaking the California state record or world record anytime soon I still want a good dependable scale. Who here has used the Salter-Brecknell Hand Held Digital Scale? I'm looking at the 55lb model that measures in .05lb increments. Would you all consider this scale "The one to have"? It seems to retail anywhere from $70-$90 depending on where you order from.
  16. I've decided that I'm going to stick with my GoPro Hero 2 for now and wait on the next release from GoPro to see if they fix the battery life issue. I've got a coupon code for $100 off through the GoPro website that expires tomorrow if anyone is interested in it. It's good for the Hero 3 Black or Hero 3 Silver only. It would be interesting to see what price you get on the purchase b/c as of this morning I see that GoPro has lowered the prices to $329.99 for the Black and $249.99 for the Silver. If they still honor the $100 off of those prices it would be a pretty good deal for anyone looking for a new GoPro for their trips! PM me for the code. This is a one time use code so this will be first come first serve. I believe my wife has a code too so I might have two of them available if she did not delete her email already!
  17. If you decide to sell again, let me know! Ill $90 on that Pizz Baby Wake! Somehow I missed this one!
  18. I went to the GoPro Grand Prix at Sonoma Raceway this past weekend. The GoPro truck was doing a big giveaway and everyone that signed up for it got a coupon emailed to them for $100. It's a one time use coupon.
  19. I'm in the market as well. My son has a Hero 2 already but I jut scored a coupon for $100 off of a Hero 3 Silver or Black. Trying to decide quickly as the coupon is only good for a week!
  20. Fairly good. The lake was low when I was there last time. That meant easy walking from any of the public ramps or pull offs. It's a vet popular lake for skiers and jet skis though. Lots of muddy edges once the traffic build up during the day when it's warm. For view of the lake, if you've never been there, go on Google maps and use street view from the bridge over Putah Creek or Pope Creek.
  21. That was kind of my plan. I spent one day on the lake last month on the South end and caught a couple fish on a spinnerbait and one on a shakey head. I saw a few nice 5-7lb fish cruising break lines next to grass but couldn't interest them in anything. The Tournament is on the North end of the lake where I've never been. There are two bridges up there that cross Putah Creek and Pope Creek. They look to have some nice drop offs and shear rock walls where they touch the shore line on each side. I was going to try topwaters early and then mix spinnerbaits along the bluffs with drop shot and split shot rigs around the columns. If I can get a couple decent fish in the boat early I'm going to throw swimbaits for the rest of the event. Lots of trout in the lake so I'm thinking Negotiator, S-Waver, Wake Jr along the shallower sections and possibly work Hudds out in the deeper water off the points and around the bridge columns. The only recent reports I've seen from the lake were on the South end and they were catching fish in the 25-35 foot range on split shot rigs. No big fish though.
  22. Any of you guys know anything about the North end of Lake Berryessa? I've got a tournament there tomorrow and have never been up there before. We're launching out of Putah Creek area at Chapparel Cove. This is a kickboat/kayak tournament so I won't have the ability to run the whole lake. I need to stay within about 3.5 miles of the launch area.
  23. I know a lot of guys in SW Florida that throw Zara Spooks for rolling tarpon so the Lunker Punker has to work. I'm sure it's just a matter of putting in the time in the right locations!
