  1. I wish I had been more into the swimbaits when I was in Florida! I fished a lot of inshore kayak tournaments in Jacksonville and while we don't get snook (to speak of) we did get tons of the monster bull reds in the river. I bet an ROF 16 Hudd would have cleaned house up there if you could have kept in on the bottom. Most of the fish were around 35ft deep so not sure if you could keep a Hudd down or not. Especially with as much current at the St Johns River gets up there by the mouth!
  2. When I lived in New Orleans we used to see the monsters rolling in Lake Ponchartrain. I'm talking like 200+ lbs of toothy armored fish!! I can't imagine snagging one on a swimbait. I would imagine they would absolutely shred a Mother or other wooden bait!!
  3. I'd love to have some inshore fishing like that up here in NorCal!!! That would be the bomb in my kayak!

    1st DD

I can't imagine the nerves if I had to lip one that big with no net!!
  5. If you get that weighted right it'll pretty much BE a Lunker Punker. Great looking shape so far. Hope the weighting goes well!
  6. Looks pretty sweet! Where did you find the wood? Can you just pick up a piece of basswood at a lumber yard?
  7. How much are you looking for on the SS FS Gill?
  8. Rats are his specialty according to the boards, but he seems to make just about anything that the imagination can come up with!
  9. I find that some of the guys are using Facebook to get their products out there. I found Jason Kincanon through Facebook when Brock posted a video of the swimming rat on his Hiroshima Customs page. Also, I met Fatback Herring Tony at the KayakBassFishing.com Invitational Tournament (which he won) that we both fished in South Carolina last March. I believe he is only represented on Facebook as well. His Fatback Herrings are pretty sweet! It's a four section swimmer with great paint jobs! Come to think of it, I've never seen a webpage for Hiroshima Customs either. At least not one that you could buy the baits off of.
  10. For mine it was less than a week. Not sure his exact turn around time now but he said he's not too backed up. You could probably get one within two or three weeks.
  11. My Kincanon rat pack ready to roll!
  12. Some of us are still waiting on the FS Gill baits to be released again! It's rare that one comes up for sale on the BM and when it does it's gone as quick as it's posted!! I wonder when 3:16 will do a release on those again? Anyone know the order and where we're at right now?
  13. I've not found PF in 25# yet. I can get it in 20# almost anywhere though. I'm throwing just about everything on it from the S-Waver all the way up to the SS250. I was contemplating switching my heaviest set up to 25# CXX just to have a little more line strength for my biggest baits.
  14. Those look awesome! I think Brock is going to do a Clear Lake Hitch color for me on this one. I don't plan on taking the skin off so I'm not too worried about that part. Cracked paint hopefully won't be a big deal as long as it doesn't peel!
  15. I've got one of the large Kincannon Swimming Rats and two of his mini rats. They're going to get worked hard this weekend at Clear Lake. I'll be up there Friday night and fishing all the way through Saturday lunch! Hopefully I'll have something to report about them when I get back!
  16. I've got one coming that is questionable. Someone tried to add scales to a Flash Carp and it may or may not be a little crazy looking. I've seen a pic of the bait and will consider having it custom painted depending on what it looks like when I get it in hand. Talked to Brock last night and he says he has painted a couple and quoted me a fair price on it if I decide to go through with it. Has anyone here got one with some custom paint? I'd be interested to see some pics if you've got them! I'm considering a bluegill or brown hitch pattern for mine but would like to see any custom paint jobs. My worry is that the paint wouldn't adhere to the "rubber" skin used on the Deps.
  17. Basically I'm telling you I'll take it pending a pic to verify what it looks like
  18. I'd like to call dibs on the 250, but I'd like to see a picture before I transfer the money!
  19. I guess I got lucky by having to get up early and drive into San Fran to pick up my Mother in Law from the airport!
  20. Pretty sure I snagged this already. I sent a PM at about 4:30am this morning but haven't heard anything back yet.
  21. Can't say enough about him. Answered my call for a SS 250, provided a fair price, and fast shipping with tracking info! Thanks man! Matthew
  22. Better you than me! If I ever tore one of my reels down that far I may as well throw it away b/c it would never go back together in working order!! Nice looking reel though. Any clue on price point?
  23. 1. Hudd (6" or 68) 2. 3:16 Baby Wake 3. River2Sea S-Waver or Gancraft 178 I'm fairly new to the game myself, about 8 months now, and the above lures (even though on the smaller size) are what gave me confidence to stay with the swimbaits and start throwing some of the bigger offerings. I actually won my first California tourney since moving here a few weeks ago by using the S-Waver and a Roman Made Negotiator.
  24. I currently have my Dobyns 795 paired with a Curado 300DSV and it's a good match. I put one of my Calcutta 400B reels on my Dobyns 807 since that's the heaviest rod I have. I figured it was a good pairing for throwing my heaviest lures. The LDC Heavy seems to be an in between rod per the ratings so I guess it could go either way with a Calcutta or a Curado. I wish I could find a mint condition Curado 300DSV to go on it. That would be my second choice to finding a mint Calcutta 300TE.
