I've had luck with big brownies and really big rainbows (24"+) with 68's and small glide baits around 7" with some flash

I have the Okuma guide select series "a" xh rod. It's been great all year but the last few trips out on almost every hookset the reel will come off. They're not even big fish or crazy hooksets. The biggest fish it's happened on was 3lbs and the hooksets are just sweeping to the side. I've checked the reel seat and it's as tight as I can get it and not cracked. Any tips on how to prevent it? Or should I just start looking for a new rod. The last thing I need is to lose a big fish because of it. Thanks in advance

The bullshooter 160 is pretty good but I prefer my BGC more. It's seems to do better on a slower retrieve me than the deps. The deps works better for me if I'm trying to fish the bait faster or with hard twitches to trigger the bite. -

Got my new pb last week. Didn't have a scale but measured her length at 23". Even though I didn't get an exact weight I know that fish is heavier than my old pb of 5lbs 6oz. Caught on an overcast day with steady winds. The fish came off of a partially submerged bush with a steep drop off to 30 ft of water. Caught her on an 8" g2 Big Game Customs glide bait in dark blue trout.
