  1. I like the XH. It was in member reviews not too long ago...
  2. Necessary in salt water but by no means required to catch a bass.
  3. Really good. I have the 120. Can stand very easily and cast and fight fish. More storage than I need but I haven’t gotten a ton of accessories yet. Fishing machine though, haven’t taken my boat out since I got it.
  4. Find the bait makers you like and follow their social media and websites. Realprey makes to order from the website. Burrito baits are released 7pm on Sundays. Swimbaitcity Realcraft fishing TW Last chance tackle Outdoorproshop There is a post just about weekly of someone getting burned purchasing from a member on SU or some other swimbait FB page.
  5. Gail Ratcliff did a cool video on this (Carphugger/Burrito Baits). Take some paper clips (2) and a finesse slider weight. Put the paper clips in the weight and take a hammer and flatten the weight down on the paper clips. Then you can put the weight flush against the bottom of a bait by bending the paper clips and inserting them into the bait. Video title is "Adding weight to a swimbait"
  6. That's one bait I've had my eye on and I rarely go after custom hard baits. I'll pick one up in the future, probably.
  7. Other than what has been stated the only thing you can do is mark them when you get them. Heat up the end of a paper clip and place a mark or two on the bait. Just make up a marking system so that you can identify the sink rate. Saw that trick from Karl from keepinitreelfishing in a video once.
  8. Never had an issue. Maybe check a bag if you're concerned.
  9. I'm not referring to Rising Sons lol. Think top hook baits with a harness + jig hook. But I've had this issue with beast hook baits as well, I know that's a product of me rigging the bait but when I can't get a $20 bait to run straight up and down it wrecks my confidence. It's maddening. And it's not like I started fishing these things yesterday. I like what Gail Radcliff did with the Taquito in marking the bait through the molding process showing exactly where to run the hook.
  10. Condition one. Warheads on foreheads.
  11. I’ve found that nail weights may help at a certain speed that the bait is tuned for. if you have a flat sided bait whichever side you put the nail on will cause it to lean that way while sitting on the bottom. Turning the line tie can work if the eyelet is not connected to the hook.
  12. I've had some issues lately with baits listing to one side or another and I've sent baits back and fourth with some great bait makers to get issues resolved without complaint. I just went looking for another answer and found this article from 2006: https://www.espn.com/outdoors/bassmaster/news/story?page=b_col_pro_pointer_BMM0611_2 I found the last paragraph the most interesting: "Trim near the hook For a swimbait with one main hook, a small slice in the bait where the hook comes out of the top could be all you need to make it run true. "You can start cutting a little bit at a time where the hook comes out," Velvick says. "Sometimes you can easily see if the bait is poured poorly, because you might have too much plastic on one side and not enough on the other. The lead (weight inside) is kind of offset and that might make it run crooked." Slicing a bit of plastic off one side will balance the bait, and that may be all you need to create action that will drive bass crazy." Anyone try this with any success? I haven't heard that advice before this morning. I assume an exacto/hobby knife would be the best tool for the job (which I already have). I have seen numerous occasions where a two sides of a mold are put together and it is uneven. I didn't know Byron Velvick was on the bachelor. Useless information, but an interesting fact. RIP Tim Tucker.
  13. Starts with a b and rhymes with braid.
