  1. Whaaaaa!?!? How is this still here at this price?!??
  2. Talk to me Goose… how’s it going? @danthefisherman
  3. Donated a 3:16 Workhorse to about 45 feet of water below Lake Norman Dan today...big cast, big backlash, big splash whomp whoooomp
  4. Boat was easy in NC. Just looked up on the website what i needed and sent to the DNR in Raleigh. Make sure you have everything needed before you send it. It’s hard, but it’s on you. The trailer was a different story because it was on the same Bill of sale as the boat. Lady at the DMV couldn’t have been ruder about that and how I’d have to pay taxes on the whole sum vs just the trailer. I had a notarized bill of sale, the signed over title, original bill of sale, and a kidney on ice just in case. Her last words to me were ‘I’ll submit it but I don’t think you’re going to get a title for it...’
  5. That is a TANK crappie!
  6. Look I caught a lot of fish on banjo minnows and flying lures. And I’m not ashamed.
  7. I have that Short Stack and it is exactly what you are looking for. It. Is. Dope.
  8. Busta busts! You people had enough yet?
  9. I’m sure if the market will support it there, they’ll find a way to sell it. Paying 3x its worth probably only encourages your problem with them.
  10. I can’t go without my SU....
  11. I’d be pretty shocked if the government comes after anyone doing casual sales of a few baits. This is much more directed at people operating an e-commerce business outside of guidelines.
  12. For everyone that gets pissed about flippers, this should be a positive- it would at least minimally discourage constant buying/selling and driving up prices by people with no intention of fishing the baits. It would also tend to discourage ‘middle men’ buyers who similarly are buying as many of X as possible to make their own profits.
  13. I like my rods black or dark grey, and my reels black or silver, so I didn’t ask for any decorative work outside of some subtle trim bands. My German roots take me straight to stone cold efficiency. And beer and sausage.
  14. I’m resurrecting this - I got the Short Stack on my porch yesterday- First off, Ryan is about as thoughtful and communicative guy as you can have building a rod or really doing anything else for you. We talked through every step so that we were on the same page with each detail of the rod. It’s the details and care that really speak to the passion of the craftsman for his craft. 6’8” Swimbait did you ask? Yes please! I started with a TK this afternoon just to make sure I didn’t miss any eyelets and that I hadn’t nicked the fresh 20 lb CXX. I could work that TK just like a jerk bait - really great sensitivity in this rod. Next up, 3:16 Freestyle Shad in the 3 oz range. It really shined with this, fishing the Shad almost like a spinner bait around nearshore cover. There’s that little bit of mod in the action that makes it cast great but let you pop the bait around cover. Rolling up the weight chain to around 4.5 oz with the Gillrilla - casts like a dream. No reduction in distance over my LDC heavy. The shorter rod was actually easier to work tip down than its longer cousins with the glide. Sadly, a couple follows on the Rilla and I was ruined on the rod test by actually trying to catch fish... This is and will be my favorite rod - its weight range is 3-8 oz and I have no doubt it would have handled every bit of that range. I will definitely get out with a 250 and possum with it to see the higher end of the weight range, but no doubts about those. None. The primary/secondary flex on this blank has to be experienced to be believed- it really is an extremely versatile rod. Ryan is great and his work is second to none (and the dude abides...). The build is clean and he thinks through every step and detail, and executes the build utterly flawlessly. I could not recommend this rod or Ryan’s work any more highly.
  15. If you fish a hard bait enough that it wears out, you have 100% gotten your money’s worth.
