  1. The bold would explain it. Short for pick name that are between randy.
  2. Thanks Austen, Got home this afternoon and they were here.
  3. I use a Duckett 7'11 XHVY for this application. But I try to never lose bottom contact, so I rarely feel the tail thumping. I don't know anything about the LDC rods, but wouldn't a 1-5oz rod be a bit much for 3/4 to 1oz bait???? I've used my LDC MH for baits as small as a Lil Booger/Hudd Shad and it handled it just fine. For soft plastics I generally prefer a faster action than the production rods have and the customs fit that bill well. Others may disagree, but hey thats just me Thanks for the reply. That's good to know about the LDC. The 1-5oz just jumped out to me.

  5. Also, wait for the rod to load up before setting the hook, on none aggressive bites. If the bite is aggressive you will feel the front (hard nose) of the bait hit the fishes crushers and you can set the hook. You can actually get to know when the fish is biting the soft part of the bait, behind the hook, or the front half of the bait, the hard nose. I know when the fish bites the tail, that I need to keep working the bait at the same speed and wait until the rod loads up before setting the hook. At least that is what seems to work for me.
  6. I fished central fl. last week. It was a tough week overall. Caught my biggest fish of the week on a 316 mission fish, 9"er. Actually a fish bit the tail off, and in a pinch I used a bull ribbits foot and some Mend-it, to make a tail. Fished it through the thinner Kissimee grass, on the bottom, slow and a nice 6.5 lber slammed it. The fish is only my second "swimbait" fish, and I was stoked. Now it is time to get busy at home on Chicamagua lake here in east TN.
  7. Great posts, everyone. It's nice to get confirmation on what you think is right, but haven't had the time on the water yet to prove it. Facepunch, lol. Ain't that the truth. Learning the big fish pattern is what this is all about.
  8. I can see throwing a TT or a cl8 clacker when I would have thrown a Lipless crank. And a number of baits when I would have thrown a square bill. But I have yet to translate the glides and slideswimmers. I know this is not really a question, but with all the noob topics, I thought I would post my thoughts
  9. In this post lies the difficulty of the "noob". We don't have much to offer to the swimbait world, but we need the black market to get started. Other than the obligatory posts, we can't increase our post count at any kind of rate that would say that we are contributing. But I do think that we should not ask the same noob questions over and over. Search is not always friendly, but it should be tried to the fullest extent.
  10. I caught my first ever swimbait fish on the Swaver. . I got to watch the fish react to the bait a few times before he hammered it..
  11. Beware !! They are feeding on the new guys right now Have fun, post up a pic or video sometime ( without background ) you can thank me later lol Lol. There probably aren't any people here that would recognize a spot here in east Tennessee. But, I know what you mean.
