This. Seeing big fish from cali is cool, but seeing fish like SPEEDS 8#er makes me want to quit "Not Allowed" footing and go fish. I say do regional tournaments, and send all the winners to Cuba or Mexico to fish for a week and see who comes back with the biggest fish. No home lake advantage. If you don't come home because the drug cartels got you then your automatically disqualified.

You're all insane. Keep it simple stupid. Jig hook is fine. If anything, bend it out some. I don't care what butch brown does, I don't catch 19# bass. Jig hook works for me, I don't understand why everyone fucks up their hudds. I think Don posted something about the ROF 5 coming out with a jig hook, I can't wait. I'm sick of screwing up baits by jamming hooks in them. And don't give me the oh just get hiddlebond crap, I want a $30 bait to catch fish without having to mod it or glue it back up after every fish.

I don't have a derps or a roman, so I don't know where the hell I stand. Guess I should just go home.

Started my evening out like this: As it got a little later the fish came out to play: Pictures do it no justice. I had no scale, for some reason it just stopped working a month after I bought it, but the fish weight calculators online all said from 7-7.6 for whatever that's worth. Smashed my wakebait 10 feet from the boat, bent hooks out, thrashed everywhere. It was awesome. After I calmed down from that, I went back to it, and stuck this: I've caught this fish before, she's got a funky jaw from where it broke earlier in it's life, more than likely from someone who doesn't know how to remove a hook. This fish is in the 5.5 range, and dwarfed by the first fish.

There's a bunch wrong with the shorter ones. They pull out very easily. Also, they are made from nickel plated brass = very soft= easily twisted and bent. Being shorter in length a bass can untwist them pretty easy. +1.

Any way I can still get in on this?

I finally broke down and got a thermacell, it's basically the same thing, just a little more heavy duty. It's awesome for any time you're in a buggy situation. Keeps em all away, mosquitoes, biting flies, no-see-ums.

Nice! They're starting to show up around here with more weight on them. I'm hoping they stick around this summer.
