I would rewrap and epoxy and it shouldn't change a thing on the performance, it will just be thicker in that area. This was it's a forever fix and looks fine. Good luck. If you don't have it fixed by the time you come back to AZ, my guy Gene will fix her up perfect for like $20.

The rod will never be the same if its more than just the tip that broke. Someone will have to rewrap it and epoxy. If its just the tip, it's a super easy fix.
