    Guitars

I use to play out in a few bands in my younger years, (I had all my hair back then). I was always a lead vocalist, and, eventually started playing rhythm & bass guitar. I've got a Fender knock-off lead guitar, a Yamaha bass, and a Takimine electric acoustic. I've got a Yamaha digital home recording studio of which I have recorded around thirty original songs. I have a song on u tube called " Small Twig"...check it out. I play all the instruments & do all the vocals on all my songs.

    New To SU

Welcome aboard Erik. Send some of your weather up here to Massachusetts.
  6. All I can say is, Matt is one of the most reliable bait makers i've ever seen in my bassin life. Every time he has a new release coming out, I can't wait to admire some of the most realistic colors & swimming motion you can get from a lure. The volume of lures he produces from such a small operation just baffles me. The man has a God giving talent for sure.
  7. One of my top 5 swimbaits. I'very talked with Mike in the past, and he told me that he uses all types of wood for them. Like Mossy said, they all swim a bit different. Cast, reel, and enjoy....
  8. Will, those are coming along great. What angle are you using for the lip ? Also, do you have a method to consistently cut the body angles & lip notch?
  9. New cell phone with auto sentence finish. Meant to say : i'm ln
  10. Back when I got my first couple of HardGills a few years back, I was reeling one in, and, all of a sudden three LIVING gills started swimming along with it. From that day forward, I have admired the true realism of Matt's lures, especially the paint jobs. I truely beleive if you wiggled one of these Gills on a Gill spawn bed during the spawn, you'd have to believe an attempt would be made to "Get Together" with each other............very attractive to us & the world under the surface. I can't thank you enough Matt for your devotion, and, when your "Bigger" gills get released I'll be on that list. Thanks Again...
  11. In most cases with Matt's Hardgills, when they go up for sale, it's like a bunch of Marathon runners waiting for the "Gun" to go off....GO !
  12. I'd have to say back when I was about 12 years old, (i'm 64 now), throwing Old wood Creek Chub Pikies, South Bend Bass Oreno's, but, mostly an original Silver Foil Rapala. Swimbaits have been around for a long time,(like me),but, the publicity about the use & big fish caught on them has really taken off.
  13. I make my own Wally Rat & I've gotten plenty over 5 on it. I've used Matts Rat with great sucess also. There is a "Different" feeling getting bass on a homemade lure...try it out guy's.
  14. I agree, this has Always been one of my big fish go to lures. Like most of you, I was hoping for a bigger Hardgill also. Not only do Matt's lures catch a ton of bass, but, they will be great for Lure Collectors now & in the future. All the different colors, sink rates, body segments, etc. ....I'm also watching for a School of Matt's Golden Shiners to swim into our lives, right behind the school of bigger gills, Thanks Matt.
  15. Congrats, You and the fish...still alive, dignity....gone.
  16. The smile say's it all JC......, did the bite start after you took your hat off....LOL ....Im follically challenged also, and, my fishing buddies tell me to put my hat back on when it's sunny.
  17. Great subject Trav, gold star to you for helping us all protect the future of bass fishing for us and future generations. On the same note, it makes me sick when you watch the Big Boy bass tournaments on T.V. only to watch the bass they swing into the boat bounce around off of everything in the boat.
