Whelp your only issue would be that they aren't made anymore so you would have to find one second hand. Also they are fairly difficult to come across.

Looking for a surface glide in trout pattern.

I've been tossing 3-4oz on an old 806 for years and its been just fine doing such.

I had both and IMO the LDC was too stiff. I'm a fan of parabolic rods and the 867 is what I toss everything from a deps 250 to a baitsmith mag on. It handles an 8" hudd well and the 10" magdraft also.
