I'm new to big swimbaits as well and fish a little north of you in Texas. Fork, Athens and area lakes. The 8" wood punker has got me a few of the most violent bites I've ever had from a bass. Work has kept me from really fishing but I get to fish a ton when it cools down..I've also caught a bunch on the Thirtyacre Dirty shad

Thanks guys. I went back to the same place Friday and got another one to annihilate the punker right at dark. She pulled off. I can't get over how ferocious they are when they commit to this bait. This was a very big fish and hit the thing going 60 mph and short lined me. I was throwing braid and may have had my drag a little tight. Needles to say, I'm hooked

Yes, it's the big wooden punker in the bass color. I'm headed back to East Texas tomorrow afternoon for an all nighter so hopefully I'll get lucky again.

I'm new to the big swimbait game and this was the first time I threw the Punker. Only bite I got on it but was the most violent explosion I've ever witnessed from a largemouth bass. She weighed 7-15 no matter how many times I shook the scale. Needles to say I have the bug bad now.

I'm new to swimbait fishing and own 2 glide gills and had a tough time getting them to work right. Anybody have any tips??
