Started fooling around with making these baits a couple months ago. Had some failures but these two have been my favorite so far. Both have pretty good swimming action. Working on my first fish swimbait now

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but obv you wrap the elastic bands around the bait first and then clip the split shots to the bands? I just started my first bait fish swimbait last week because I started making rats first. I'll put up some pictures of some I have made now. Thank you for your help

How did you go about the process of adding weights? I have tried drilling holes and filling them with weights and sealing them back up with wood putty. I was also unsure how much weight to add.Any suggestions?
