  1. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I'm way south of that in Ontario and fish mostly bass. Musky shops, even online, would be a good spot to grab double cowgirls etc.

I don't have a Lowrance unit anymore but the discontinued 'Hotmaps Premium Canada Lake Maps' had ok coverage in the Red Lake/Thunder Bay area. I'm running a Helix 5 DI on my small boat and think downscan would be really helpful up there for pike. Navionics gold card might be worth a look.

  2. There are some studies I've read that taking bass off of a bed even for a minute and releasing them can be harmful for the numbers of offspring. Baitfish can eat and disturb beds within that 60 seconds. I'm up in Canada so there is a legal bass season that starts only after spawning has finished - I have to say I really agree with the policy. Considering the size and genetics of some of those 10+ lb bass down in the USA it is a shame when people harvest/injure those trophy fish. It doesn't just effect that fish - multiple generations of potentially trophy sized fish are impacted. Sad that some people don't respect the resource.

  3. Has anybody tried the Magslow?

    Any difference in action??

I just got a few Magslowl's but bass season doesn't open in Canada until June so I can't give a full review. On a quick test cast - it's a thinner body design that moves less water. Less head movement - stays dead level. Softer plastic than the Magdraft with more tail movement - a better wobble in my opinion. Dressed treble hook is nice. Seems to sink significantly slower than the Magdraft but that could be the really cold water - not certain did not do a side-by-side sink rate comparison

  4. Probably not the feedback you are after on the larger Magdrafts but I used the 5 and 6" up here in Canada last year. Found it ran really straight with very little body roll. Good tail wiggle action at almost all speed retrieves. 2 different treble hook holding positions - one  for open water and one for a more weedless presentation. I'm definitely getting another few for this season. Caught some good smallies on it last year.

  5. It's not paint per se, more like a hydro dip pattern. Jackall does the same I believe. Once it lifts in one spot it peels super easy.

I agree with everyone just fish it!!! Or….lots of options for re-paint
