  1. This is awesome. Always talked about catching peacocks, and on a swimbait would even be better You may get a random PM one day if I make it down there I'm guessing you used to collegiately fish from the username, so we can swap those stories
  2. I bought this one ~6 months ago. I just assumed it would be rough around the edges for $20, but it's solid. No idea how the guy makes any money off of them. I went to Wally World and got a rope for like $2. Been perfect so far. I also bought a money pole, which extends to ~15 feet, I think. It's a great one-two combo
  3. S-waver 168 And for $17, you can't beat it
  4. I was wrong, my buddy purposely bumped himself down the list since he couldn't fish for a couple weeks So I have no info
  5. Sent a pm. Going to wait on the text cause of the time
  6. Shoot me a text, I'll give you an offer for the chubby cheek in cash or in baits. 803- seven 61 - one zero 12
  7. Also looking for the best paint remover on a 250
  8. I have an OG Mercury 250. Losing paint and used (front lip has little chips out). Can send additional pics later today Looking for a different color before I strip the paint off the belly of this one Can include a weedless hudd or other baits in trade if needed. Trying to give someone a chance at this color before I destroy it. Thanks, Isaac
  9. Had set aside a week to throw the big baits, and the slammer seemed to be the bait that best fit what I wanted to do. Kept telling myself "you may only get one bite this week". Mentally prepared First day out, my gf at the time is with me. 6 hours in and she has started to tan. Had a day-dream the day before of her mis-netting my first swimbait fish... have that in the back of my mind (I really liked this girl, but hey, that would be a deal breaker) Well I roll up on this little point, bait is cranked down a couple feet and this fish shoots out of nowhere. BOOM. I slam the rod back (7'11 flipping stick - veritas). Yell "get the net". She laughs. I yell "get the net". She says "you're joking" (laying on her stomach). I yell "get the %#*+€£~ net". She obliges Now I coach her through her first net job. I saw I had good hooks. Went smoothly. 6 lber I'm screaming and shaking, more for the excitement of seeing it and being the first swimbait fish. She finally got to see me excited for a fish. When I took her to ponds and stuff she would get excited to catch fish but made fun of me for "not getting excited". Been hooked ever since.
  10. Well, I'll get off the 3:16 train with this: Obviously not the slammer, but the old school castaic that just happens to really dive down. Don't see many of them floating around, and people convinced me to not throw it cause the history. So unicorn to me
  11. I don't have the pic on my phone anymore, but I caught a pound and a half spot on one. And I'm pretty close to you geographically. Chuck it.
  12. BPS's are probably still more expensive. Haha But that is low Also, BigSlant, is the Chinese on the back of the box from the pic you posted? That box and bait looks like the original s-wavers, not a knock-off On another note, a couple years ago like 5 or 6 of my buddies talked about buying 100 Chinese KOs for like 1.99 each, or something dirt cheap
  13. Not 100% sure my buddy has received it yet, but I assume he has since we are trying to plan a trip for this weekend. I'll make sure we post up some pics of the bait and hopefully the fish cooperate
  14. Y'all have fun. Hope a lot of the attendees post up their thoughts and experiences afterwards
  15. I fish open water mostly, so take with a grain of salt, but I throw 20# on my 250s/10" TT/8" hudds. My smaller stuff I throw 15 or 12. Just think about your water clarity, cover you are fishing, and how often you check your line. May also want to consider how financially impactful losing a 68 or whatever bait is on your wallet. If not that big of deal, just another pro in going down a size
  16. It's a trust thing I don't deal with people with very few posts (on any forum) and try to talk to them a little more than just about the bait. Talking over the phone helps too, but usually I'll just be genuine over text and ask questions like "you been catching them lately" or "what's your home lake". Get to learn interesting things about people and usually spammers just want to spam. Not shoot the bull
  17. Shoot me a PM if you would like and I'll give you my phone number I can answer pretty much any question when it comes to a Lowrance, and if you can stump me, I can get an answer Much better with my graphs than swimbait fishing, haha
  18. Congrats on the win, Matt No idea where you live, but the little spotted bass made a run at it if you are in Cali/Texas
  19. Awesome pic. Here is to a better 17 for ya
  20. First lot is a good starter lot. Perch BBZ Jr is a slow sink. BBZ is a fast sink. Real California is a custom paint but has started chipping on bottom, appears to be trout color underneath. Not sure hudd ROFs, but I believe one is a ROF 5 and the other is a 12. Can check if needed Will sell for $70. Next is a blueback herring 175, special release at Classic a couple years ago. Thrown some, biggest imperfection can be seen in pic below fin (silver paint missing). Looking for $75. Also interested in trades for 8 inch Hudds, or 8/10" or maybe bigger TTs
