ACE of Bass

I had to get on the water tonight and see how the ladies responded to the eclipse. I had on my trusty 9 inch MS Slammer. She rolled on it in about 4 feet of water, and dove for the bottom, a silent hit. I thought it might have been a large pickerel, until she started to swing my yak and my MH rod bent. She went 5.7. Almost lost her trying to get her in the kayak. You can see she actually came unhooked as i netted her. She was the only fish I got in 3 hrs. Sweet.

Nothing is better than the Slammer! Love that bait. Nice fish. Congrats. Sweet Hat! Semper Fi.

PS- gotta buy a digital scale cuz you’ll never really know.

First swimbait fish since i joined the Marines. Haven’t had time to fish much and just started to get into it again with my girlfriend. Finally settled down in maryland, and finding some time to grind the local waters from shore. Had parents send me a couple go-to baits and a rod, and hit the water. 
Anyways enough backstory, got this guy on the slammer. 

Hot bite yesterday following the monsoon that came through MA. Caught about 15 quality fish between the PG and Tactical Wake. Best fish went 5-14. 

Gotta love that Spro Rat. Always a consistent producer. 
Solid bass right there.

Night fishing in the Yak. We were out all night with no hits. It was a half moon but it didn’t show up till after midnight. It was dark as hell. I put down my MH rod and big baits and tossed the smaller SPRO rat on my spinning rod because that usually catches something. 
Sure enough on my second cast she nailed it and fought all the way to the net. I would rather catch her on a Possum,  Slammer, or Roman but I will take a new PB any day!
