  1. Love that you caught that fish in a toon. I used to fish out of a tube and a pontoon all the time in Wyoming. Trout at night on a big mouse fly are heart stopping too. Well done!
  2. Sent a pm about the Rago.
  3. The pro angler is an amazingly fantastic fishing machine! I have a PA 14 that I use on lakes and in the salt here on the coast. Best kayak I've ever owned. You're definitely going to get your money's worth!
  4. Explore new areas more frequently. Try new techniques instead of sticking with what I usually do. Fish more wakebaits!
  5. Ho ho ho and merry Christmas. Happy and safe new year too.
  6. I always toss one to see what's happening 12 months out of the year here in southeast Texas. Bigger bass will slurp up all sorts of things from the surface at all times of the year.
  7. Had move get into my ranger the past couple of months. Chewed wires, tore up carpeting, peed on anchor rope and shredded it to make a nest. My wife is a wildlife specialist and gave me a product called "Critter Ridder" that keeps all sorts of creatures out of your stuff. So after bleach washing the plastic compartments and hosing down the carpets, I sprinkled it into all the affected areas. Hope it works. Might try the bounce sheets too.
  8. Hype has a lot to do with it. In 5 years, there'll be a new "hot bait" that everyone is going nuts for. No doubt they work, but so do plenty of other lures that cost a lot less.
  9. I have a 16' Wilderness Systems tarpon, a 14' Native Slayer, and. 12' Slayer for my wife and me. The tarpon is fastest, but the Slayers let me stand and fish. My advice would be to test paddle a couple of different models and then search kayak forums and Craig's list for used models. Most guys trade Up to newer models after just a couple of trips so you'll be able to get sweet deals. Having said all that, I know plenty of guys with Pescadors and they love them.
  10. I'm guessing the market is either shrinking or cooling off considerably since prime time in the '90's-'00's. Same as with fly fishing and other outdoor sports. Basscar never took off with the public like so many had hoped...Thank Crom!! Pity about Ranger though. My '88 is still in great shape and helping me chase the feeshes.
  11. Good read. Crazy how people know bass crush big bluegill, gizzard shad, and smaller bass, but think the need to throw small worms, jigs, and cranks. Good job showing him the way!
  12. Mighty fine idea you have there. Much cheaper than buying weights or aluminum molds. Good tutorial.
  13. Don't mean to hijack, but how much do you want for the bass patterned slammer?
  14. Nice fish and a great bait. Glad to see another Texan who fishes from a yak.
  15. I don't have any glide baits, but I throw topwater all year to check the bite. Wakebaits, rats, and punkers as well as frogs. Slow and dead stick works, so I'm sure glides would be a good option too. Sounds like you could maybe change the cadence a bit to get bit more. Then again, maybe they're just not into biting.
