  1. It is worth it. I have a 11" on the bow and a 9" in my dash that is hooked up to a 15" monitor mirroring it. People ask all the time where I got my 15", I got it used on eBay and it works great but would have been about $1300.00 new. I reworked the bow and the dash so all would flush mount. It was a lot of work but worth it.

what units are you running and what monitor are you using as a mirror

  2. I'm running an hds 9 on the bow, definitely wouldn't go any smaller, while standing up, the extra size is worth every penny especially when in split mode running gps, sonar, and structure scan. Even the 9" starts getting small while operating 3 features. I'm going to keep the 9" up front, but add a cheaper non-touch 7" as a dedicated sonar next to it, like a hook or elite series. I'm currently running a pair of 7" on the dash, one dedicated gps, the other sonar, and they've been working great, although I'm probably going to upgrade the gps unit to a touch screen, far easier and user friendly than the non touch. You'llbe glad you sprung the extra few $$$

What units are you running and what kind of monitor are you using to mirror your unit?

  3. Down here (southwest Louisiana) we don't have the same "perch" yall do we call anything a perch that's in the bream family (bluegill, sunfish, crappie) we have white and black "crappie" we call both species sac-a-lait. It's just like anything else different parts of the country call the same fish different things. I think you knew what I was referring to though.

  4. Went from a Champion 202 to a Phoenix 921 and love it, the only other boat I will consider getting is the new Charger 210 because it is a Champion 210 just updated with the newest features. The 921 is probably the best fishing platform I've ever fished off of as far as stability and deck room.

  5. Humminbird is definitely the more user friendly of the bunch, good graphs. The mapping is out of this world if you buy the lakemaster chips, navionics doesn't even compare. I have had Lowrance HDS 8s on my boat and liked those too, the down imaging was crisper. I now run a helix 12 and helix 10 on my boat and love them. My best advice to you is to try and get some time behind whatever units you are thinking about buying, call around to friends and see if you can't go out with them and they can show you what they like about there units.
