Watch the video Marlin Baits did on making a roman made mother or watch solarfallbaits on youtube. They're excellent bait makers that aren't afraid to demonstrate their bait making methods.
Im not trying to replicate anyones bait at all if that wasnt clear in my original post. I just wanted to know the dimensions because theyre both proven fish catchers despite their size. I also wanted to know if it would be worth it for me to consider getting one in the future considering the gear I have now and the class of bass I fish for. Thank you

It seems like you want the dimensions to replicate the baits. But regardless, all you need to know is the weight of the bait and length if you REALLY want to know what you want to cast, the length doesn't matter since many baits can weight the same but have different dimensions. I have a hinkle trout and it seems to weight around 8+ Oz but i'm just guessing, at work and would have to confirm once i get home.
Possibly, I am open to trying to make my own as theyre so expensive haha. Mostly though is whether the profile is too bulky for my fish. I know that one should never underestimate what a bass will try to eat but it can be intimidating for the fisherman all the same. Both baits look pretty tall but they are thin as well. Thanks for chiming in

Hey all
Was wondering if any of you hinkle owners could help me out. Ive been wondering what the dimensions (length, width, hight) and weights of andrews baits are. Dont want to jump the gun on something too big for me. Thanks in advance!

Good fish

795 will suffice for the small stuff

Cheaper than a LDC travel rod thats for sure

Slow it down. Dead stick if you have to. Bass will often come over and take a slow sinker on the fall right before it reaches bottom.

Looks good!

The colors that seem to work the best for me are the ones that I have enough confidence in to keep throwing...persistence normally pays of in one way or another with bass fishing.

That black gill looks killer!

Awesome story!

I've heard that the crappie population has exploded recently. Try imitating them by throwing a swim bait with a silvery finish around docks or wherever the crappie are holding.

Yes. All Dobyn's rods are covered by limited lifetime warranty. The Daiwa has a 5 year while the new Okuma is unfortunately covered for only one year.Do all dobyns rods have lifetime warranty?

Striper + White?

This may seem like a silly question to ask, but does anyone out there use braid with their line thru baits?

I heard that the new series has up to 400% lifting strength and is much more balanced than the old version...is this true?

still pursuing a DD of my own... Good job!

Another thing I have started doing is not playing the fish out too much before landing them(to reduce stress).
I agree! Tiring a fish out lengthens the time you may waste reviving it too...time you could be using to fish.

Nice! Very nice! I wish my parents had started me out that way!

Does anyone have experience with the Telescopic Heavy? Storing a 7' 11" rod seems like quite a chore, but I'm really wondering if the telescopic concept weakens the rod blank or decreases sensitivity of the rod. Thanks!
I'd like to get some input on the Telescopic heavy (only heavy action?) as well. Does anyone have any experience with it? Thanks!
