The veritas will work for you. I have the same rod and throw triple trouts, mini slammers, and deps 175 with it and havent had a problem.

For the hooksets on the 4inch weedless do you have to set the hook hard at a 90 degree angle or can you sweep the rod sideways to get a good hookset? Ill be throwing it on 10-12lb mono.

I know this is old but thanks for the review. I just bought a mini slammer to try out in my home lake where theres not too many big fish to be found. A fish over 5 would is considered a monster lol but theres a ton of 2s and 3s.

I love throwing frogs and texas rigged worms.

I fished a local big fish tournament on my home lake last night. I threw a 7 in floating triple trout over some points and ended up catching an 8 in smallmouth but the way it hit made me think it was a big momma lol. We ended up 2nd catching a spawned out 18.5 inch smallmouth on a finesse worm that only weighed 2.6. I was wondering what is the smallest swimbait fish anybody on here has caught?
