  1. Careful with braid. I threw mine on braid and set the hook and tore it all to hell and the hook. Missed the fish now back to 20lb FC like he suggests. Good luck and lets see some pics of the pigs.
  2. Cool, I have mine rigged on my KLX 7'3" XH to try out. Should work fine with 65lb braid here in the thick eel grass then.
  3. What kind of rod are you all throwing these on? Can you make do with a flippin stick?
  4. I have to order some more WRS only have 1 left in white. Was bank fishing a local neighborhood pond and the one was testing/using was cut in half by a turtle. I was pissed. Can't wait to get on Lake George to try them out. Do the top hook RS work ok down here coming through the eel grass?
  5. What are you guys throwing and catching them on down here in our grassy lakes around the eel grass? I just ordered some WRS and mission fish and rising son top hook in Blue gill. I fish mostly the St Johns river and Lake George around submerged eel grass and dollar pads. Will the top hook RS come through the grass ok?
  6. Ordered some to try and they came pretty quick. Threw them today on the St Johns for a little bit to try out. No hits or follows but I like them. Swim good and seem to come through the eel grass easily, but man these things are heavy. Tried them on my 7'6" Kistler Helium Heavy and decided that wasn't enough and swapped over to my 7'11" Extra H Denali flippin stick and that felt better.
  7. I guess my theory is simple. If the master uses it and it's a proven technique with line/rod/reel etc and he has WAY more DD bass than any of us documented WHY you wouldn't want to use his ideas is beyond me. I would much rather get bites than worry about casting off a bait. Good thread going here.
  8. I think I will experiment, thanks for the good info.
  9. I just read an article on Wired2Fish that featured Butch Brown and in that article dated Feb 2015, it said he uses Seagaur AbrasX 20lb FC for his set up in fishing the Deps 250. But I read on here with all the set ups and everyone recommends 20-25lb CXX or Big Game. My question is why are people not using more FC if the master uses it and it works better than mono? What am I missing?
  10. I just did some Googling about them and some posts from another bass board say they are legit and fast shipping. They all said no problems and the best prices out there for some things. I think you will be good to go with that site.
  11. Just signed up for their alert for the 160, those prices are cheap. How much is shipping and how long does it take from them?
  12. Sold out already! Damn it man! lol
  13. I have a few other swimbaits now but slowly building my stock and getting addicted. Once I caught my PB of 10.5 last month on my S Waver 168 that's all it took.
  14. I just ordered it, if it sucks I will return it to a store. I also ordered a Jackall Giron in Ghost bluegill and the Spro rat in ninja. Can't wait to try these out.
  15. I have a BPS gift card and the only thing I can see from them since there selection stinks for baits, is a rod. I was looking at the 7' 10" mag heavy cranking stick rated for 1-4ozs. Do yo think this would work for larger treble style baits like the 168's and 200's, Slammer sand the Spro rat baits. I would think it would do ok for the bigger treble baits. What do you guys think before I pull the trigger? I have always heard good things about the BPS crankin rods for their price.
  16. I think you're right althought it will probably be more like 6 months. I am already second guessing myself on buying the 7" slammer. After reading on here I should of got a 9". Oh well that can be the next order with a punker and a BBZ1. Oh man it's already started. I am doomed.
  17. Thanks guys. This lake has some giants swimming in it. Hopefully I can upgrade to the 12lb class next.
  18. What's up fellas. I am a new guy here at the site and I hail from Florida. Wanted to get into SB this year so I bought 2 S-Wavers 168 and started throwing the one Party Crasher here in my neighborhood pond and a smaller fish hit it. Built a little confidence in it and started throwing it on my deep clear sinkhole lake here in Florida that is known for giants in that smaller lake. Dozens of fish have come out of that lake over 10 lbs with 2 this year over 15lbs. This lake is perfect for SB fishing. I caught my PB with that S Waver a couple of weeks ago she went 10.5 and inhaled that bait. Just bought a slammer and Hudd 68 from TW from info on this site. Awesome site and I have a ton to learn. I have read the NOOB section and good info in there.
