Summer right before I moved away from one of the best fishing holes I used to fish in Humboldt County, CA. Not the biggest fish but still cool to catch second cast with the Matt Rat! That reel caught me a bunch of fish until some scumbag decided to steal it, this place is right on Highway 101 and someone pulled up and walked down to the lagoon and stole the reel that I had set aside next to my car while I was spooling up my Abu Garcia Revo Toro Beast.....

So I just recently got into fishing swimbaits and got a few of the "core" swimbaits that I saw a lot of members on here using, and I must say that swimbaits are super addicting. This rat just has been producing decent fish for me at my local fishing spot, Freshwater Lagoon in Humboldt County. Excuse the language, I get super excited when I catch something around 4lbs because this lagoon is only 11 ft deep and I am fishing a flat that is 4 to 6 feet deep that extends out around 25 feet into the lagoon then it drops off a little bit more. There are big fish in there, I have seen them cruising the shore, I still have to break the 5lb barrier! I thought the fish was way bigger than it was and I thought it would have been a PB for me but hey I'll take it after not getting anything all day on the Slammer. BTW the line broke up above the knot, it got frayed from it's mouth, it had a pretty rough mouth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONVBGF_aiaQ
