Thanks bro.I've read alot of good feedback on here for Okuma which is very reassuring . The Everglades is a fun fishery, tons of bass, gators, exotics, birds. Very lucky to live close to such an amazing spot.
Was hoping to get a nice one the swim bait. Only caught one and a cichlid. Both small.
Was getting the S-waver dialed in and broke my new Okuma setting up on a fish wrapped up in pads.
Switched gears and caught a nice one 6-12 on a speed worm. Not a swimbait so not eligible for the tournament. Had my scale ready and everything! Caught a huge mudfish on the spro rat and another one tore up my Hudd. Just need to make some adjustments to gear and figure out swimbaiting down here. Now to contact Okuma about that warranty.
Like the Okuma alot.First time using it yesterday ,lost a 5lber pulling him out of the water. Can throw s-waver all day.Threw slammer tonight with no issues. I don't have any huge baits so it fits well with what I'm throwing. Little creepers throw and fish well on this rod with 20lb Berkley. Fished 65lb braid on slammer tonight on a slower retrieve reel. No issues.
New guy in Florida here.Fish Everglades to Lake O. Ponds and and small lakes alot as well. Just bought an Okuma Guide select.
Fishing Matt lures ultimate gill,Hudd 68,Caught a nice one on the Little Creepers.Couple bites on the MC soft swimbait. Bought a 9" slammer waiting for it to show up. Only have a few trips swimbaiting so Im trying to keep it simple with swimbaits.
Been studying the forum for a few weeks and bought a couple soft plastic swim baits to use here in South Florida. First time out caught this fish on a little creatures 6" trash fish.Had a 3 more tail bites on a 6" shaky fins swim bait. Will be trying this again for sure! Very excited about swim bait fishing!!
