So I have a 796, 806, and a 908 coming. I’m thinking about trading in the 806 (current deps 250 rod) for the 867, does anyone know if dobyns is gonna charge me out the ass to change to a rod in the same series? ( the 867 is $30 more than 806) I like the 806 for my 250 but the 867 is supposed to be the jam, I like throwing alot of close casts near cover with the 250, is the 867 still good for the short precise casts? and would a 796, 867, and a 908 be a good line up to cover all my treble baits 3oz and up?

The day started like any other, weighted down by the stress and worries of what life has become. I decided to send it on over to one of my worst spots( overran by live bait fisherman) I utilized my golf swing technique to pitch the bait down a wind blown bank and began my retrieve about three feet from the bank I see an enormous surge towards my bait so I kill it and then next thing I know the battle is on. Although this fish didn’t break my weight personal best and did beat my length which I am more than happy with!

At $25 it seems like a decent bait but i've never thrown one are they any good? Should I replace the hooks? What issues do you have and what mods do you make to it? What would be your got to rod and line for it and how would you work it most effectively? Im grabbing one in baby bass and im terrified of losing it even though its a cheaper bait, obviously i will still fish it where it needs to be fished, how would you avoid snags and how would would the hooks bend out if i get it stuck? What are good hooks that would also bend out when using enough pressure but not on a fish? Thanks for any info.

Hey SU, just recently got an OG 175 Silent Killer. Want to wrap it and convert it to a Slide Swimmer. Anybody ever do so? If you have, please drop some tips on the weighting and if there are any wraps out there to use on this bait. Much appreciated, thank you!

Hey guys, rookie rod builder here, what blanks is everybody running for a deps 250, I would preferably have something that can go up to about 8 ounces comfortably but doesn’t have to be, let me know what you guys are using, any help is appreciated, thanks!!

Do any of you guys have experience with Izorline xxx? I know that as a co-poly line it should land somewhere in between flourocarbon and mono. But what does this mean specifically? Does it still sink like flourocarbon? Does it stretch a lot? I have been looking for cheap but reliable flourocarbon to fish hardbaits. I know that the Izorline xxx isn't technically flourocarbon, but am still wondering how it compares to a true 100% flouro.

I've pretty much just fished soft plastics, drt and sly gills. I just got a deps 175 x su and took it fishing right out of the package I didn't think the action looked good at all I thought the bait was supposed to glide. I was thinking my reels too slow maybe? I was fishing it on a conquest 300 5.1 gear ratio. Anyone got any suggestions because I couldn't really get the bait to do anything short of sink lol
