So I've read on here and on other websites about tracking and finding big bass by doing research on a computer about the lake and finding likely spots where a certain big bass might be, before even fishing for them on the lake. I've tried to understand a figure out how this is done, but I cant and I've been fishing big baits for a while with no luck. I'm hoping someone on here could shed some light on what I'm doing wrong!!

how much does the bait weigh? I would really like to get one and fish it because it seems like it catches big bass consistently but I'm not sure if the rod I have can handle the bait. I have a abu Garcia veritas 2.0 7'9" heavy fast action rod, the rating goes up to 3oz but I'm not sure again if it can handle it
