SU hasnt been the same in the last 5+ years Baits constantly getting flipped to make a profit is about everything you see now and that's just welcoming people to scam. Make a post, sell a bait for hundreds of dollars, never ship and disappear, its really as easy at that. Hope it turns around one day ( its your bait and I don't give a "Not Allowed" what you do with it im just stating what im seeing hahah )

Did you take the sideplate off by any chance. If you did make sure they you throw the reel in freespool by the silver lever on the drive side before putting it together or it wont go into gear. Easy mistake I see a lot and if not gullys is the way to go

a never ending cycle of selling off summer baits to buy winter baits and vice versa

and to add to your original question it shouldn't be a problem adding just the pawl to your curado as it already has the shaft that the pawl lies on, I just believe shimano didn't put it in the curado because its a freshwater model and feel like it isn't necessary with the amount of pressure compared to saltwater abuse.

I do reel repair for a local tackle shop and unfortunately a arb pawl will not take out any play in the reel. The anti reverse bearing is used for infinite instant anti reverse and the pawl is actually just there to keep your reel from going backwards in event of the arb blowing out. If there is some play in the reel at the moment it may be that your anti reverse bearing may have grease or oil in it making it a harder surface for the shaft sleeve to hook up on to. And even if you add the anti reverse pawl to it, the pawl still has close to a 1/8 ish inch to go into the gear to even get a solid connection to stop the back reeling, probably giving you more play then the arb could ever. I would recommend removing the side plate, cleaning off the shaft that has contact with the anti reverse bearing and throwing it back together and if that doesn't solve the problem a new anti reverse bearing should solve the problem for you.

damn I didn't mean to start a war, I just like that it sits straight up when in the boat hahah the right handle and the first left guide keep it upright which probably isn't good for bank guys but I don't care if the guides are down on carpet. But ultimately I cant tell if there's a performance difference in it, I just build my stuff super minimalist so being able to shave 2-4 guides off a rod is a good enough reason for me

when you're buying titanium guides is nice to have a few less guides to buy and I dig how it sits flat on the front of the boat
