  1. Keep the top hook, if you ask me. If a fish wants it enough it will take the bait. Some people bend it slightly outward to increase hookup ratio, but when I start getting tail bites like that I either adjust the presentation or change up completely. Don't know if it's true or not but it's been said adding a stinger on the bottom of the bait can increase the chance of hooking the big fish that actually does inhale it in it's gills, resulting in the death of that fish. Anyways good luck and keep chucking it, you'll get one to commit!
  2. I do, dec thru early feb. I'll be going after some steel hat this weekend. Once my lakes get back to the forties I go back to largemouth.
  3. Don't know if this has been mentioned but flouro can have pretty bad memory and coil up on itself especially cheaper flouros. Also if you do not wet your knots the heat stress weakens the line.
  4. Paired my new fr 795 with the extremely affordable okuma citrix 354. 25# drag, huge spool and 5.4:1 gear ratio.
  5. This is I believe a first or second gen model. Still available
  6. Puyallup area. I am very familiar with most small waters I the area including north lake!
  7. Its still in pretty great condition, the cork handle is even still factory wrapped. I'll take best offer or possibly a reel, rod, maybe even baits.
  8. Hey everyone. I'm Brent and Im addicted to swimbait fishing. I mostly fish small waters here in the pnw for the elusive over sized northern strain largemouth. I picked up a 6inch hudd a about 2 years ago and committed to throwing it last spring until is caught something and low and behold I broke my pb with a fish about 7lbs the first time I got bit. Anyhow, I'm here to learn a few things and become a better angler so pardon my questions if they seem dumb!
  9. Yes sir! Maybe we have even crossed paths at some point if you fish some of the smaller waters around.
  10. Parting with my 807mag heavy swimbait rod. It is an older model that has not seen much action and has a some minor scratches or scuffs from being moved around in storage so if say it's 9/10 in condition. The reason I'm getting rid of it is because It's kinda overkill for the baits I throw and I got a 795 to replace it. I'm open to trades but will take the best offer if not. I can send pictures via email or text message.
