  1. Appreciate it Mossy the ones I wanted to fix up are pretty hammered in the head so not really much at all to work with. Figured it would be a good chance to put some fake ones in that look much better.
  2. Not sure if this belongs here or in the grass roots section, but I am looking for advise on doing some eye surgery on some of my beat up hudds. For those of you who have added eyes what's the best way to secure the new eyes to make sure they stay put? Just epoxying them in place? Or has anyone actually taken a hudd and dipped the head in Plastisol? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also I can seem to find it now going back over old post, but a long time ago I had heard about guys buying really nice glass eyes to put on there hudds to really highlight them, anyone done this? Thanks
  3. Thanks for the reply i will be sure to check this out in depth. The main reason I stubbled across the threadlock was because as the tackle tour article noted they finally made it in a size that could be used for normal conventional gear like smaller bait casters. I use 65lb power pro on my top water/frog setup and now I’ve got in on a tatula sv which is on my main pitching jig rod but i want to run a fluro leader on it and i can’t seem to figure out a knot that will go through the guides without hanging up at all which screws up the pitch. Figure a hollow core would solve that issue so I’m interested in trying some out.
  4. So the tackletour review of this product looks promising, i have been somewhat intrigued ever since i learned about hollow core braid. I’m not so interested in this for swimbaits at the moment more for jig rods where i would prefer braid but hate connection knots. Anyway I’m sure there will be lots of people on here who this would work well for, now that they are making it in smaller diameters. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewseaguarthreadlock.html
  5. Got mine today. Right off the bat the bait looks amazing and you can tell the attention to detail is there he obviously spends a lot of time getting these damn near perfect craftsmanship. Not sure what hooks he is running in these but they seem a little lite for my taste so I’ll be swapping them (plan to use this bait deep so heavier hooks will just help get it down along with the weights) paint job looks great to. This might seem dumb to some but i give a nod to the packaging, everything was packed very well. When you spend over $100 on a bait i don’t think it’s to much to ask for the maker to use some quality packaging especially on soft tails. Excited to get this bait out and see how it swims.
  6. I haven’t received mine yet i ordered the day he posted them, got the email for tracking but couldn’t figure it out with the language
  7. I have thought the same, although i do really love the fact that these baits are hand carved, makes me feel a little better spending the money knowing that it was crafted not just a machine kicking them out. I haven’t fished it a ton yet but i haven’t figured out the tiny Josh’s yet, one thing I’ve seen a few people reference is weighing I’d down to fish off the bottom. I’ve though about possibly crafting my own wire guard for the tk to do just that, and i will be using this new bait for the same purpose

    Wings

2 sizes to choose from on lpo https://www.lurepartsonline.com/Creeper-Wing-Sets http://www.musky.com/features/NewWings.htm https://www.muskyshop.com/products/components-lure-building-creeper-wings Bunch of different sizes and shapes here if you can find a way to translate the Japanese https://www.sugihara-s.co.jp/shopping/products/list.php?category_id=16 Hope that helps
  9. I stumbled across his bait a few months back and started following. The biggest advantage IMO is how he fishes it on the bottom in deep water. The wire rig seems to keep it snag free and this appeals to me because in my experience the largest fish that have caught in my area have come from the deepest parts of the lakes usually next to a wall or big drop off. I usually fish hudds in these places but do not feel like it’s always the right approach especially in summer. I plan to fish the one i bought during the drop primarily weighted with the wire so it will sit in those deep parts of the lake. Was hoping for a trout but they went fast so i snagged a perch, if anything I’ll get motivated to finally use the new airbrush to lay down a trout pattern.
  10. Made the long trek to Clearlake in cali from Utah years back with grand illusions that we would catch some giants (biggest fish caught in a week of fishing was a 5), looking back on it now I am almost glad we didn't because it would make coming home and fishing in Utah much harder knowing that I would never again get close to catching another real trophy.
  11. Same, bucket list is a 10 but Im going to have to travel to cali, texas, or florida to make that happen it seems.
  12. Have you fished Dworshak? I frequent south eastern Idaho for a lot of my bass fishing and and thought about making the trip to that lake to check it out.
  13. Would have liked to get a ghost but I guess a bright will do. If anything it will motivate me to get off my a$$ and start learning my new airbrush that the wife got me.
  14. Got any military buddies or family? Dobyns direct offers 30% off rods for military, only thing that sucks is shipping is $25, might be more now who knows
  15. Wish i had seen this post before making my order, decided to finally make the jump to abraz-x for my big bait rod after finally trying it on my mid range to see what the hype was about. So of course i added like a dozen more items to the cart, everything in stock, placed the order and was waiting for the follow up email saying it shipped. Nothing! Went to my account on the site and it said it wouldn’t ship till the 17th wtf. Never had any shipping issues with them in the 10+ years I’ve been ordering. Usually i a shipping fee snob but i would have paid the extra to get this stuff especially the line
