Got to throw the baby possum for the first time the other night and didn't disappoint. This was the best one of the few I caught.

Thanks y'all never really noticed that they were fishing in close quarters situations until someone said something kinda the way I fish since I fish from the bank a good 80 percent of the time. Yah i have noticed that I almost never see guys over there throwing larger softbaits. Kinda curious on why not though.

Anyone got the chance to try out the Shimano Anteres DC MD yet? If so how's it prefromed and what baits y'all been throwing on it.

Anyways I was wondering why some over sea guys especially in Japan use smaller coventional style reels over bigger 300 or 400 size reels as you see here in the U.S for swimbaiting. I do see them use different techniques as far as casting in which they'll do an under lob rather than over hand one. So I guess what I'm getting at is what are some pros and cons of using smaller reels for swimbaits (referring to baits in the 2 to 5 oz range). I've been looking at getting a new reel since my other Lexa 300 got smashed lol whoops. I like it but didn't love it and have small hands and using a larger reel for extended periods of time can become annoying.

Megabass makes the 2.4,3 and 3.8 inch darksleeper which looks like a goby so does LiveTarget and Joe balog has a really good looking goby bait. I've used the dark sleepers and Joe balog up on Erie and they kill it up there!

Finally going to get a rat bait just don't know which one I should get between the two. I'm probably going to be doing alot of night fishing with it ,don't know if that makes a difference. But just want to know how they compare to each other such as the knock on them durability and how they fish. I really like how they both look and think they're about the same size and weight correct me if I'm wrong.

Went on a quick smallmouth mission yesterday morning didnt get the smallmouth I was after but did end up catching this decent Saugeye. Also got this largemouth off the G2 Shellcracker later that night. First night mission of the year forgot how much I loved it even though the bite was really slow and caught alot of dinks. But gotta get out whenever I can even if conditions aren't as optimal as I'd like them to be.

Down sized alot on my swimbaits this year to upgrade on some things also to focus more on specific baits. Can say I'm really happy where I'm at even though I got a few more in my sights.

Been messing around with these magnum flukes for in and around dense weeds and sparse shallow laydowns that I can't throw the big baits in. Really liking it so far and might be something good for a followers that didn't commit to my swimbaits. She's my longest Ohio bass yet too bad she didn't have a belly on her looked like she was getting up there in the age by the look of her. Dunno if if I should have really posted on her cuz it's a magum fluke and not a "swimbait" by some standards but if a 8" topwater walking bait is a swimbait then why isn't a 7" fluke right? lemme know what y'all think.
