Azfisher, great idea. Is this as simple as just hitting it with a flame for a couple seconds? All the wakebaits I own have that round, smooth lips, yet no signs of sanding. Will have to try this
-
Thanks guys! Cutting it while it's square seems so obvious but it never crossed my mind at all! I appreciate the advice, I'm going to give all this a try and see how it goes

Really struggling to get straight retrieves without spinning out from my wakebaits (similar to a slammer/pats/rat). Problem I believe is lip placement and V-joints. Is there a good way to cut the V-notches/joints by hand? Any tool that would help without breaking the bank? And how are you guys cutting the lip slot for your wakes? Thanks all

I doubt it will do much to complain with the BBB, but I guess it couldn't hurt. The only one I got runs sideways as well... I guess all that we can do is stop buying hudds lol -
Congrats! That is a fat fish, hard to tell from the pics but I'm guessing the same as bassbass

Great thanks

Who has the tools to cut straight lexan lips? I'm looking for 1" by 1" squares, and am really struggling to get them just right without any proper tools. If anyone can make these and would be willing to make and send me some let me know. I'll pay. Thanks.

Very cool, thanks for sharing!

I have a miter box that works great with a hand saw for the 45° cuts. I've been messing around with these cuts in the baits for the last week, and the "V"s definitely do not have to be perfect to swim straight.

Has anybody tried molding a Slammer?

I got that, don't worry. I own about 50 slammers from Mike Shaw, I love his baits, and will probably add more of them as time goes on. I am just starting really and thought it might be easier to get the basics down by using an existing bait. Not having to sculpt, etc. No intentions of selling or anything obviously, just was thinking of pouring one or two to get the feel. But thinking of it now, that's probably a waste of Silicon (making a mold that I'll only use a couple times). I'll just wait until I've finished sculpting a bait before making my first. Thanks all
