  1. The man can paint that's for sure - glad to hear it has nice action - hope the new one is even better
  2. Hey everyone, Wondering if anyone has tried the new Yohan Bluegill yet? Thanks!
  3. Nothing wrong with braid - especially on a reel like this where you may want to switch from smaller swimbaits to conventional tackle
  4. Up in Maine we always like to fish the outgoing tide as the bait will be getting sucked into the deeper waters where the smallmouth are waiting for lunch. Bringing baits through the eddies and close to the submerged rocks will usually produce as the bigger fish are using the current breaks to rest and wait for their meal. I'm not too familiar with the area you fish but try looking for flats and setting up shop in the boat near the drop off. Hope this helps!
  5. Agree to the Lexa HD! I got one earlier this year and love it. Also have a Tatula that I use for smaller baits and it works great.
  6. Are these baits typically bought directly through Mike?
  7. I've had good luck with 7" slammer (purple nitro) and my perch triple trout. (6") Buddy of mine (Swimbaitman) also loves catching them on his Johnny Rat.
  8. I wish I had a custom M.S Slammer - maybe this Christmas. That is the Purple Nitro color.
  9. Fished the Kennebec River up in Maine on Saturday and ended the day with 3 different species on the 7" Slammer. I have caught plenty of smallmouth on swimbaits up there but never a yellow or white perch. The perch spawn in the winter so I think that is why they were a little more agressive.
  10. Wondering if anyone has had good luck with snake baits and if so what brand? Thanks!
  11. Anyone ever fish here before? I know access is limited to the shore and certain gates but wondering if anyone had any tips for this place? Taking a trip here next week with Swimbaitman. Hope everyone has a good long weekend!
  12. I have a 7" slammer and the X3. I find the 7" to work just fine, especially in New England.
  13. Daiwa Lexa HD because power handle.
  14. Daiwa Lexa 300 HD on a Megabass Levante Leviathan. It has proven to be an awesome freshwater/inshore combo.
  15. New to swimbaits this year but the slammer is what got me hooked
  16. Thanks Wally! Yup we caught her just after dark.
  17. Well we didn't end up catching any bass but we did pull in a bunch of these guys
