Right now my only SB rod is a Six Gill that I got during a BOGO sale. It's kinda stiff but handles my 8" soft baits and down. Anything close to the 2oz area is kinda light on it but it will still load enough to throw them. Seems like I didn't give but about $100 for both rods ( other was a spinning rod). After the first of the year I'll be looking for a rod in the 1-6oz range.

As someone who is relatively new to swimbaiting, I don't know what alot of these baits should cost. But what I do do is research. I check out every listing I can for the bait I'm looking at. And if I wanted a $30 bait bad enough I might pay double, just depends on how bad you want the product. Just my thoughts. With that being said, alot of the baits I've tried and decided I didn't like, I've damn near given away. It's all in how much patience you have.

Had my eye on these, just been waiting for more user reviews to pop up. As far as depth, have you thought about adding a small weight to the front eye? I've seen people do that with the Gantarel to bottom bounce it.

Looking for a Hudd 68 weedless Night Stalker. If the price is right, I am PayPal ready. Let me know what you are willing to part with. Thanks

Couple things..I believe freedom of movement for the bait..tying direct to some baits especially with heavy line can mute or lessen the action..also I noticed with heavy line and some big glides my knots would tend to fail more..I think two reasons on that..if you have a large bait and a knot like a Palomar as you loop the knot around the bait it creates heat and stretch as you tighten it..gotta keep the line wet..or a stiff knot like the sdj imagine bending wire back and forth till it snaps..with a snap/split ring you tend to eliminate knot failure more..imo..and between the split ring and snap you have less re ties and the quick change capabilities
Makes sense. I have noticed that my glide seems to not glide as much since I started using 25lb flouro. Looks like I may be ordering some snaps here soon.
