Went out on my buddies boat this morning and managed a few on the spro rat. Fished for first 2 hours with nothing while my buddy pulls in a 2lber and two 12" smallies on a spinnerbait. Hit a rock and broke the tail off the spro, decided it was time to twerk it! Waking along a line of large rocks letting that rat twerk I landed the first fish which went 4.8 on the digi, after re-tying I cast again, couple firm twitches, start slow waking it back and a 2+ slurps it down. First time ever for me catching fish on back to back casts with a swimbait, I was excited. About an hour later I got the third fish, couldn't resist the twerk! It was a fun day and the tail is staying off that rat for good now! The last pic is the same fish as the second pic, thought it was a fun action shot!

Great post! I've been deadsticking my 7" bluegill slammer in a similar way with marginal results, I'm gonna toss the Gantarel in those same spots and hang on!

This isn't going to help you get back your Deps but it might save you in the future. I fish from shore most of the time too, if I'm in a new spot I make a few casts with a cheap Panther Martin Vivint swimbait, they're 1.5 oz and come in a 3 pack at walmart, I've snagged and lost a couple of those throwing "test" casts in a new area.
