    I had a cormorant hit my Bull Shad 2-3 feet under water, thought I had a real nice fish for a second until its wing popped out of the water, he thrashed for a second and got away so I didn’t have to deal with unhooking it. The smaller birds near me all love my redhead baby wake, I throw the perch colored all the time and the birds barely care, tie on the redhead and they’re everywhere!

    I also own a 14' Sportspal they are great canoes, bought mine used 5 years ago for $350, its a 1977. These are very stable canoes you can stand up all day. That being said as long as you're not doing anything too crazy in your canoe you won't flip. Get a small trolling motor, put the battery in the front and you're ready to go! Have fun with your new boat!
