I re-tie and re-spool quite a bit, using big game it's so cheap I don't think twice. I fish over, around and through lots of big rocks, my line takes a beating.

Make sure you're working it close/parallel to shore and pause/twitch around cover. Keep throwing it and varying you're retrieve, you'll start slamming them soon!

Does your HS have any Shop/Tech Ed classes? You could always try making your own rat.

Few fish from my last few trips out. Nothing huge, the one with the 68 was 4.1, having lots of luck on the rats and slammer slow twitching them around large rocks. I only fish a couple hours at a time so I'm happy to get anything on the big baits, having lots of fun waiting for those big girls!

I just ordered a pair of Wiley X Omega with green/copper lenses, replacing a pair of Hobie's I had for years. +1 for eye protection, I've got two guys replacing the heating system in my house right now and neither one has put on a pair of safety glasses...to each his own
