  1. Growing up we used to sneak into/onto ANYWHERE there were bass to be caught. Some water treatment facilities don't mess around though... HUGE fines $$$! Once while a ranger was writing out a ticket to my buddy and I, I suggested he shorten the "reason for violation", "trespassing with intent of fishing", to Tres-bassing... he thought that was pretty funny, but still gave us the tickets. Oh well, win some/lose some
  2. Literally, haha,, and have the violations to prove it unfortunately... : \
  3. Man, I invented that sh*t... hahaha
  4. Brady is a true unicorn ; )
  5. Since everyone is on a 3:16 kick,, here's my humble asst, and they all get used, thanks Mickey for some good stuff!
  6. Bwaaaaaahahahhhhahahaaaa! Hopefully they wrap the wall with those tears! #BUILDTHEWALL
  7. So the higher GR only comes with that big bulky handle? That sucks,, and also seems backwards, usually a lower GR reel is equipped with a power handle... I was looking into this reel for a mom setup, w the higher ratio,, I guess I'll be looking to swap handles if I go that route
  8. I prefer this one, the old ball and chain type!

Shoot me the name of that place R8r, $3500 is far better than the places I've found

    Boat carpet

Yea, it did seem high, but not too many places would even do it. And a big part of that is fabricating new seat skins for bench seat and both fishing seats. After watching what a buddy went through doing his own, no thanks! And his turned out a total hack job, haha. Damn Collin,, $750 is a hell of a good deal! You find some cheap illegals to do that or what?? Hahhh I'm not 100% sold on the pad idea, I bet it'd be awesome while new, but what about if it gets worn, "dead" spots? Or would it weigh a sh*t ton after a good soaking? Nevertheless, your interior looks awesome man, great deal you got
  11. I've shipped and received rods with fees around $25,, but tried to ship an 867 dobyns out, at all of the big three, usps, fedex, ups, and the cheapest was $114!!! Apparently upto 8' is cool, so much as an inch over and price skyrockets. Ended up just keeping it : \

    Boat carpet

I do have a place near you,, but "paying so much" is subjective bro. I was going to do my own this year,, I want it done professionally like it did rolling off the showroom floor, not like it came outta my garage. I'm willing to pay. I think I could do a good job, probably not quite as good as them,, but when you factor stripping out all the old carpet with the old glue, and taking apart all the hatches and hinges, then all the reassembly... you have to ask yourself how much your time's worth, and if it'd just be easier to pay someone. The estimate I got for mine, 21' ranger, and seat covers installed, was around $5k. I think it's more than worth it in my situation. PM me and I'll get you the contact info if interested. Otherwise I'd just recommend doing it yourself, I don't think you're gonna find someone any cheaper to do it professionally.
  13. I'm with Tim on this 100%,, I hope the mods leave it up, we as members deserve to know the truth,, after all, that's what a forum should be about, rt?? I have no friends in the bait making business, I guess that's a good thing, I can't be labeled a biased,, although I don't think that's a valid label for Rubber Daddy if he just happens to be friends with Mickey and voicing his concern for getting screwed. Looking back, hph's practices are historically terrible. If he does indeed have "thousands" of people waiting on his junk, I feel horrible for them. We're all sick of hearing the excuses, family member's health issues should remain private. But yet that's all that guy dishes out to his customers, that crap wouldn't fly in my business. Quit taking people's money up front if conditions on the home front are so up and down,, or limit it to a small deposit if anything, and you could avoid a lot of this. But for the guy that has an answer for everything, that's not likely to happen. I don't believe a damn word outta this guy's mouth,, and I hope the members of SU are paying attention
  14. And best part about the phoney, aside from it swimming awesome as Tim points out,, NO CASH UP FRONT!!! Not sure about the rest of you guys, but I'll never get on another prepaid year or three long list again! The message we are sending these companies is that those practices are looong gone!
  15. One of mine was a 6", other was a 9". The 6" was too damn light for any of my swimbait gear,, I had to throw it on a crankbait setup. It sucks @ss. The 9" did a bit better, but sunk way to slow in my opinion. But after barely hitting a dock, I didn't have to worry about that anymore, it broke in half, lost the tail section
  16. "Ummm,, my poor wife broke her leg, gravy and black mold poured out, so we had to move for 11th time in last few months... meanwhile, there's tons of rain and mud everywhere, hard to tend to wife and mold and make baits. Please keep sending your money though, the lists are moving right along, I'm getting ready to ship baits from 2012's list as we speak! Blaaaa, friggn, blaaaa!!! After finally getting a hph (from black market, not Randall-scam-all), I was actually extremely disappointed. It swam horribly. But I think something was wrong with it. So, I got another. And it swam a bit better, but definitely not as good as my Hinkles or other glide baits. And they cost twice as much as most others. In fact, I personally don't even know anyone who's had them and really liked their's. I'm not bashing anyone here, just protesting my disgust with the company's practices. They definitely got the last of my business. And I can give no f*cks if this gets me deleted from his future lists! Haha! And honestly, , after ALLL the drama on here over people's misfortune, we as consumers are solely to blame if we continue to support a company like that. Good luck friend
  17. Well, I'm definitely not an expert nor biology scientist... but might be able to help you out. I have been fishing CL for past 25 yrs, as far as I know hitch are native and exclusive to CL. So as far as actual "migration", I don't believe they migrate anywhere. They're a pretty a pretty elusive and unstudied creature, not much info on them. I'm sure you'll get some guys on here who've never been to CL, or maybe never been to California all together that'll provide far more expertise and info than I could... From my experience, they're a lot different than the carp, shad, and pan fish there. I have seen schools of them in the shallows, possibly spawning, around the same time as the pan fish and bass. I've even caught a few over the years, and found a few floaters. The ones I've seen usually range in sz from 6"-20" on the high side, avg rt around 10". I've had my best success with hitch replica swimbaits in winter-early spring. Color is usually unimportant, and most bait maker's hitch patterns don't look like the hitch I've seen anyway. I'd pay more attn to profile. Hudds, ragos, and ospreys all seem to work equally well, but glide baits have produced also. I've had best results up on northern end, hitting points, ditches, other types of ambush cover. Hopefully this helps Hauncho
  18. They both appear to be og/foam... no?
  19. I picked one up a while back,, threw it a handful of times, no fish yet. I can't say I'm entirely impressed with it though. It has a decent swim to it, but only at extremely slow speed, almost to the point where it wants to sink, anything slightly faster will result in an erratic non uniform pattern. I have tried to tune it every way practical, still no success with fixing the swim, maybe it was designed that way. For the money, I'd look into a different bait, mine was free so not to bummed about it
  20. That BAA is as magical as a unicorned steed pissing a rainbow on JC's man crush!!!
  21. Sick bait,, awesome tool for sparse tule post spawners! Can't wait to check it out in person
