  1. Nice. Holland Tract used to be pretty decent, couldn't believe how run down it got since I was last out there, the circus carnie vibe is thick. Been trying to knock off work early to try and get out there on the kayak one of these weekday evenings but commute traffic....just kills it. I'll probably be out there this weekend, that afternoon ebb is looking good.
  2. Awesome conditions Sunday evening, got bit 4 times only landed one (smallest of the day) lol.....not sure if I'm in a slump or I just suck Anyone else get out?
  3. Senkos drive me crazy....nothing quite like burning through 2-3 bags a day, watching every headshake and hoping the bait doesn't get shook. A lot of times I'd rather have the bait back then land the dink
  4. Got a great bait and my experience pretty much echoes all the other positive comments on this thread. Seamless purchase for me, shipped fast and I swam tested it this weekend. Stand up seller.
  5. Yes...got mine! I can fish in peace tomorrow
  6. I can help! First step in curing hoarding is letting go of what you hoard....I'll send you my address and you can send a few my way, knowing that I'll value them and care for them as they deserve.
  7. Oakland Raiders since birth. I like Jed York and just to confirm......yes, I would not take Brady lol
  8. Double thanks for the update! I wanted to order one but the day they were released I was fishing and no signal or Internet access. Got back home and they were gone lol.

Solid fish to start the fall bite. Strong work!
  10. My ride....60's era whaler. Pulls tripple duty in the Pacific, sf bay and delta. Can't fish local reservoirs in it, wont pass mussel inspections. May be getting rid of it to buy a more suitable bass boat.
  11. Yup, tactical clips (different brand though, don't think it makes a difference however). I haven't noticed any real change in the action on any of my baits and they're way stronger than most other snaps. Mono on that rod but they've been real good with my braid rods cause I'm not trimming a foot of line off each time I retie. Plus I'm lazy lol. Thanks for the heads up on tbe hooks.
  12. Doh.....bait was a RM Trick.
  13. In a tough bite I'll take em all.....no shame in my game lol. Good stuff.
  14. Went 1 for 3 on cranking swimbait. Fshed outside the trough for all my big hits, dinkfest in the inside. Lost a 5lb class fish at the boat but landed one to save the day. [/url] Anybody swap the hooks on these to something with a wider gap or add a split ring? I wanna upgrade but don't want to change the action on the bait.
  15. Friday, no where near the normal fall migration pattern though. I figured it's a holdover that didn't leave the system.
  16. ...but I'll take it! Wacky temp fluctuations, wind and slack tides during the short windows I've been getting have equated to a tough bite for me lately. Friday I threw big swimmers all morning and stuck my first sb fish on a rat. East Delta. Number 2 came about a half hour later on a gantarel but not a greenbass, surprise homeguard striper. fun fun fun

Great fish.....love the snagproof tourney. Everybody on the delta throwing the same bait over the same banks and mats = lots of opportunity to clean up with other techniques.
  18. JSJ perfect 10 glide DWB 6" Illude Rad Rat swing shift (love this waker) G2 Shell Cracker Ghost Gill Plopper 190 perch Ganteral post spawner (fill in for the brand new hiroshima gillrilla that I sent into outer space after a dozen casts.....to add insult to injury, as I watched it fly, the bank I was standing on gave way beneath me and I slid into the lake lol) Under that wood hatch is another tackle trays with a 6" wood lunker and a huddlston. I have all my bases covered for now, for the sake of my wallet, hopefully my collection doesn't get any bigger.
  19. Watched all the vids this morning and was late to work lol. Not new to fishing but Im relatively new to swimbaits, I think its an awesome idea. I like that the vids depict real swimbait fishing, lotta casting not always a dd reward at the end. My buddies that i fish with are new and get a bit deflated cause theyre not whacking 12lbers like all the promo videos they see. I sent them the link. Only thing Id like to see more of is shots of the baits swimming. From the newb perpective i just like seeing the action on em, helps to figure out the baits i cant live without! Keep em coming.
  20. Since this thread is timeless.... When I'm not throwing baits at fish, I suit up and go in after them. Freedive spearing, observing fish naturally in their environment will totally up your fishing iq but is definitely not a sport for the faint of heart. Visibility in the water can range from an epic 25-30 feet but in norcal 10-12 is good, 7-10 is normal and some days you can barely see the end of your own arm. So you're in the food chain, masks limit all peripheral vision and you can only see in front of you a few feet. I was on a dive in carmel, vis was about 8-10', a moderate swell was pumping but the fish were out cruising around. I had a decent stringer going and needed to return to my kayak to dump some of the fish into my tankwell (i keep a stringer for fish i shoot on my dive belt but they create a ton of drag and get caught in the kelp easily, theyre also referred to the hula skirt of death because you have semi dead chum hangin around your waist lol). It was a long surface swim back to the yak through open water. If you have an active imagination the scene looks like a very large wake bait. Halfway back i see about a 10' silhouette shoot beneath me and slip away into the murk. I got buzzed 2 more times, both times it was just beyond the edge of visibility and coming up from behind, so it was trailing me. Decided to stop surface swimming and drop to the bottom for a few up and down dives to try to figure out what was stalking me. Nothing, all the creepy shadows stopped so i beelined it back to my yak. Boarded in record time, while i finally get a chance to relax topside my yak got bumped with a huge splash and a huge freakin bull sealion popped up a few feet away. Sob was barkin up a storm and getting more aggressive so i found my buddy and we moved spots. Theres definitely been a couple more times when Ive been out and things get eerie, like fish are suddenly holed up and everything gets quiet and calm....i usually just get out of there when i feel like im being stalked, better safe than sorry lol. Have a few friends thatve been buzzed by white sharks. One was forced to sit on an offshore wash rock for a couple hours before he built up the nerve to get back in the water to swim to his kayak. Another was in about 50' of water over a boulder field, when he surfaced he said he felt like a wave broke over the top of his head and he got a little disoriented. His buddies were watching him from the top of a cliff and witnessed the whole thing, a big white was surfacing on him but turned last second and the big wave that broke was the shark breaching the surface. He had no idea what happened so he kept diving, his buds eventually got down to him and got him out of the water. Know about 3-4 others that have been knocked out of there kayaks by white sharks while kayakfishing, creepy stuff. I was fortunate enough to catch the strangest things Ive seen on video. I was off monterey diving some local kelp beds. Right after we anchor up my buddy got in and started whooping about seeing a billfish in the water. I thought he was crazy, seeing things, no way something like that would be in the cold nearshore water. So I jump in and sure enough, its a freakin broadbill swordfish cruising through the kelp. Its equivalent to seeing an elephant in your local park, just not supposed to happen. https://youtu.be/6YU_h-DiQ0U
  21. Thanks guys. Looking through the gotem section, there's a ton of talent here, looking forward to contributing.
  22. New guy from the south sf bay area. Growing up, my family had a houseboat on the delta, so I was able to able to fish nearly every weekend. Swimbaits were barely starting to gain traction when i stopped fishing bass, I remember big trout baits on castaic being the big deal. Lol, i seen an ac plug at the san mateo sportsman expo and my jaw dropped when i seen the prices, which are almost modest compared to what Im seeing on some baits today. After a long stint fishing the salt i got back into bass fishing. Have a few swim and wakebaits, looking forward sticking a few fish on em. No swimbait fish to share yet but heres one i pulled last week on a whopper plopper
  23. I'll take the heavy 2-6oz. I live in San Jose, can pick up. Is there a way to message you my ph #?
