Good to know BigSlant. Looks like I'll go with the Tupperware setup for the soft baits!

Here is what I have going so far, looking to add some bluegill style baits and I'll be good for a while. I'm thinking Shellcrackers, gantrels, and a bullshooter!

Over the past two days I have logged 10 hours on two different bodies of water throwing nothing but swimbaits. Yesterday was a bust with only a channel cat on a dirty body of water. Today I went to a local trolling motor only lake that always has 10 feet of visibility. I've heard rumors of 5-7 pounders there but never pulled anything over 2 lbs. I finally got this swimbait fish around some timber which was a relief even though it's small. A short time later I was crawling a ROF 12 68 special Hudd over a laydown in 20+ feet of water and what followed it right to the boat!? A solid 4-5 lb fish. Tired forever to get her to bite but she went back to the depths. This lake gets tons of pressure and the few decent fish in here are surely very smart. Have my first Deps on the way....maybe that will trick her!

Today was the first day I left all the other rods at home and forced myself to throw nothing but my swimbaits all morning. I fished for 4 hours solid and didn't get a single good bite. About halfway through the morning I hooked into this darn thing and got all sorts of excited until it started rolling near the surface. It was a rough one to say the least. Hoping to check out a clearer water lake again in the morning. This stained dirty water is tough to fish!

Hello all. My name is Josh and I've been chasing big bass in the Midwest for quite a long time now. I recently got into throwing what I though were big baits (6" 2oz glide baits) and I kept wanting to go bigger and bigger. I'm hooked on the big bait craze and cant wait to land some huge fish this way. I've got two setups that I will throw for a while. One is a 7'9" Cabela's 1-4oz swimbait rod with a Lew's Super Duty Speed Spool w/ 20lb CXX, and the newest setup is my large bait rod. It's an iRod Large swim with a Shimano Cardiff 300A also with 20lb CXX. I've learned a lot from this forum and look to get involved! Thanks for having me!
