I always take my leatherman wave with me I can cut braid and mono with the scissors, remove hooks with the pliers, sharpen hooks with the file, take my reels apart with the screw drivers, and the bottle opener for obvious reasons.
I went out today for 4 hours during the eclipse, had a bunch of little fallowers, caught two little guys (2.5-3lbs) and missed a 5-6lb fish. Pretty good for me!
Comes in handy! One of these would be nice for bait weights. I'm pretty new and only have two SB rods, something like that would make it easy to determine if my rod/rods could handle a particular bait.
Went camping with the family for a week at our local lake and managed to stick some swimbait fish. The shine glide and the spro rat where hero's of the trip. Besides these I lost missed and saw many more making it a great trip.
No spots in the lake just large mouth and some small small mouth. I've wondered the same thing maybe the fish is just really smart and testing the bait. I'll have to try some of your guys suggestions and see if it will make a difference
