  1. Great Bait....as as BigSlant asked what's your paypal....start kickin' those beauties out...good job Dan!!
  2. I'm all in!!!! An a Merry HO-HO to you at Christmas time...thanks
  3. Haven't had it in the water as yet...for some reason I've never had issues installing hook hangers after the fact...it's usually 6 of 1 half dozen of the other as far as installing hangers before or after for me...no rhyme or reason...thanks for the comment. I have another bait that is close to a twin to this one... swims with a good deal of movement...lazy at slow retrieve ...tight and busy @ burning speed...michel
  4. Hoffbosson the paint on the dorsal & tail section is createx wicked Fastback Green...The other three are createx transparent colors... These paints are all over a foil ... which adds transparency....gives a nice effect..
  5. Thanks for the "likes"....Hey Dan this lure is for Pre-Fish tournaments ...don't want to hook anything...NOT!!!
  6. Finished the paint scheme on this three piece sinking swimmer My version of a shiner ... Appreciate comment constructive criticism ... Thanks, Michel
  7. not sure how to go back & edit after post...forgot to mention weight on the punker fish...just shy of double digit...9 pounds 14 ounces..
  8. Thanks for the replies guys...sorry about your condition Mark...Go West!!! Scott thanks for the link...good idea Matt your'e correct about the Delta winters...can be brutal...cold wet then throw in the friggin' wind...bluegill are still there like you say its basically a confidence thing...caught my two largest Delta bass in late February & early March...an 8 1/2 in Feb on a small gill cracker and early march on a repaint 6 inch bluegill punker...but i understand what your'e saying....Go Fish!!!
  9. Winter is coming on.....trying to decide on a color pattern for a 3pc sinking swimmer iv'e just completed.. my arsenal is top heavy with my go to bait color Blue Gill....curious as to what others throw for the next three months (a California winter ),,,especially those of you who fish the California Delta...not really interested in which brand/style ...just color pattern....bluegill ,shad, hitch, sucker, baby bass what ever it is that you feel you'll get bit...thanks, michel
  10. I'm by no means an "expert" on this subject...but I do have some experience (11 years & counting with this building addiction) also I'm in construction (tile contractor) so iv'e tried many different types of wood (picking up scraps left by carpenters & cabinet makers) redwood, pine, cedar, alder, oak, basswood, poplar and last two years switched over to AZEK PVC (no issues with water intrusion)...that having been said iv'e enjoyed working with basswood, great for top water especially stick baits & lunker style baits....it can be purchased on Ebay, michaels or other craft stores...for snack size baits 4-6 inches & gliders/jointed swimmers to about 8 inches poplar was my wood of choice for several years ...it can be purchased at the Big Box lumber stores ....actually you can get dowels in varying diameters in poplar that work great for slammer / rat baits...although Iv'e been at it for some time i have limited tools...i have scroll saw & small band saw for cut-outs, a one inch belt sander & palm sander for shaping /sanding (as well as a sheet rock knife ) as a consequence most of my baits would be referred to as Flat Sides although i try to compensate for depth with added features i.e. jaw bone, gill plates fins tails etc...as you begin your journey into this addiction take it slow & read all you can (as well as watch videos on youtube ) it's all out there..First & foremost Enjoy yourself realize we've all experienced the "learning curve" required to satisfy ourselves...michel
  11. Great glide on this bait...am intrigued with the multi-function aspects you've incorporated in the design...three baits for the price of one... nice looking wraps on your baits....better yet they are indeed affordable!!!
  12. If I had my druthers I'd throw top water all day long...here are some that I've made over the last several years...the three pc waker is a serious noise maker the three segments clashing together...the gill waker is 5 inches the orange head is 6 inches...all three crafted from sugar pine...michel
  13. I agree wholeheartedly with Trav & Lakeshark....cutting joint with stock still square has made my life much happier....i sketch my lure on the stock so i have factory square & flat bottom i then mark locations , using a small adjustable square to draw lines & cut away...usually works as Lakeshark stated don't cut completely thru shape/sand then finish the cut......as for lip slots on round topwaters (when using round stock) for slammer type baits i use my band saw with the sliding miter fence putting the pc of wood against it then make several small cut to achieve desired width/depth....hope this helps....again don't beat yourself up keep at it...my wife is laughing at me 'cuz i can give this advice but i have difficulty in listening to my own words...
  14. Found your great site about a month ago....having been enjoying my addiction for a little over ten years...thought i would post a pic or three of my most current creations... all three are made of PVC (thanks to JR Hopkins...from around the web)...The shad & gill are 51/2 inches in body about 7 with tail...they are both 2 pc gliders...the glider/trap was an experiment that worked...not really apparent in the pic but it has two line ties..one in the traditional dorsal position another on the nose. dorsal tie gives me a "trap" on steroids brutal to crank in ...nose tie gives a long lazy glide...much easier to retrieve...thanks for the opportunity to share my pics in a new venue...michel
  15. Saw your pic's & called out to the wife..."you have a sewing machine right?? Can you do this??? ....yes she said...sounds like a project coming on...thanks for the inspiration...
