  1. What's up SU, Was wondering which color y'all prefer between bluegill, bass, and white for a 7 inch slammer. I fish ponds in Arkansas so I'm pretty set on the 7 inch but can't decide what color. I have done well on bluegill swimbaits but have heard some people say that the bass also looks like a frog. Just wondering what y'all would recommend. Thanks.
  2. I'm up in the Bentonville Area, your right though, it's super hard to find people who throw swimbaits up here.
  3. What's up SU, Got started swimbait fishing about a year ago with a s waver 168 and have done pretty well. My question is for 100 dollers what would you order from tackle warehouse for swimbait fishing? I already have a rod, reel and line and a glidebait. So I was thinking maybe a few baits and a southern trout eaters DVD, I live in Arkansas if that helps at all. Thanks in advance.
  4. I think that's what he's saying. That he would love to buy an LDC but right now isn't the time.
  5. Thanks for all the suggestions, sounds like the rapala is the way to go.
  6. Like the title says, I'm looking for recommendations for a good scale in the ballpark of around $50. I got tired of having my friend not believe me when I show them a picture of a 7 pounder.

  10. What's up SU, I need some help. Almost been a years since I started swimbait fishing and I decided to get into the rat game. Have been watching the black market for a super torn up rat for cheep but in the meantime I decided to make my own. I have tried several times, both single and double jointed lures but can't get them to swim for the life of me, anyone else had this problem? They just drag straight across the surface with no swim. Thanks for the help. -Lou

  12. Great info, was wandering if you preferred certain times of year and if time of day mattered like other topwaters.

  16. Also, if anyone knows of somewhere where they might go in sale or be cheeper than tackle warehouse, pls let me know, I've been looking on eBay but they don't seem to show up there very often.
  17. Thanks for all the info, sounds like a great rod. I should probably wait for the tackle warehouse black Friday sale but don't rly want to
  18. Looking to upgrade from a flipping stick to an actual swimbait rod, as stated in the title, I really like the okuma 1-6 oz rod. My question is even though the oz rating is for 1-6 oz, would this rod be to stiff to realistically throw things like the s waver 168? Thanks -Lou
  19. Sweet, never thought of it that way. Still debating between the okuma and the dobyns fury
  20. Tried boiling the bait and it worked, solid 4 1/2 pounder. It doesn't look great, but it gets bit:)
  21. Hey SU I was wandering if anyone had any experience pouring baits with a hook slot for a hook like an owner beast or similar? Do you pour it with a slot, or do you cut the slot afterwards? Also any other advice for pouring soft baits is helpfull. I have tried several times before but can't get any kick at all. Going to try boiling my baits to make the plastic softer. Thanks a ton! -Lou
