  1. Use real leader material. Its the hardest of the fluorocarbons and if your 50 or above you should have less of an issue. Pike guys use 80 and land over half but still get bit off. Keep your baits cheap so the losses are not so heart breaking. I like the trash fish in the double pack not cheap loosing 10 dollars plus hook but easier than a 30 dollar hud.
  2. If i was dealing with teeth i would be running a short leader a foot or so with at least 80lb line. Just enough for teeth protection
  3. i use 12 lb yhb for swaiver 168 and the matts gills and 20 for glides 3oz and over. I could step down but most the water here in Tennessee is not that clear. If i were fishing clear water my heavier rig would come down to 17 or so. I like co-polys and would use higher #for fluorocarbon. Stating by lb test is kinds misleading and i feel the conversation should be in diameter.
  4. These are great reels and if they were lefts i would pick them up in a heartbeat at this price. GLWS
  5. Wow running a sb barb less I think will result in some major heart break. Interested in how this works out for you.
  6. I picked mine up here see them in the 50-70 dollar range. Some are nib and priced that way.
  7. Tried to do some looking no information on blanks being used. More info would be nice. I spent a little time on the site looking but I may have missed it.
  8. So are you buying them local or on line? I see them about to be sold at TW. How long you been at these
  9. ever fish an 8'6" rod out of a kayak? Need some info on that. My champion 806 with 4.5 oz bait it a bit to much.
  10. That was my thought why not. Will be picking up one and putting out a review for the group. Maybe your perspective would also help.
  11. Got the meat head but it's been iced in since I got it. Very ice lure but almost heavy enough to punch threw the ice
  12. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_Z-Series_Wrap_Kryptek_Raid_Blue Saw this on TW and I have been just tossing my baits in a deep 3700. ANY thought's on the bait wrap deal. This junk or decent. Show me the light or should I just stick to the 3700.
  13. Tons of purges going on still looking
  14. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Scottsboro_Tackle_Co_Swimbaits/descpage-SBSWIM.html New product at tw looks a lot like a talon. Three baits for 10 bucks on a custom pour seems like a good deal. Only have the 4 at tw but goes to an 8 on there fb page. That cheap I might take a hit for the team and try them out
  15. Eyed them on tackLe warehouse and have seen them on A few baits here. Are they legit? Take a pretty good story To get me away from owner but still curious.
  16. You could toss it in a bowl of rice, or in a plastic zip lock with some desiccant
  17. My cutoff for a bait is 3oz. I use my sv103 on baits under 3 oz and my luna 253 on baits over 3oz. The weekest point on the daiwa reels seems to be the thumb bar and it seems to have a very short life above 3oz so i dont go there. I run 6.3 speed reels so i still have plenty of grunt.
  18. WOW what a sweet looking bait...GLWS
  19. Get what you want. Matt Allen did a review on the reel and really likes it. Every peson has a company or reel that really gets it done for them. I am particular to the 253 luna but that does not make it any better than your choice.
  20. They have smaller versions of that style hook may be a shorter shank for the rear if your putting a hook out back. http://www.gamakatsu.com/fishing-hooks.php?pid=1023
  21. Does this bait come with an apron and a pair of hot pot pads?
  22. I am working on a ceiling mount for my rods in the garage. I have about 20 and I don't want to deal with ta king off reels to store my gear. I have 2 kids and keeping them out of harms way is also a major consideration. I figure it will be a good winter project.
  23. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Solarbaits-carp-swimbait-.com:53oAAOSwoPpaUNZH This is the one I was intrested in.
