I will be in town mid month if you want to fish. I have base access and can bring everything but a rod. They do horrible things to rods on air planes and im not down for them to destroy my white python.

Reel Speed and Line Choice for Hinkle and Roman Made Mother
Angryjohn replied to CNORG's topic in The Underground
The rule of fishing that i learned a long time ago is use the lightest line you can all the time. My fishing partner uses 17 lb Berkeley xt pm his hinkle shad. I use 15 YHB on a lot of my smaller baits and 20 on my bigger baits. With bottom fishing you have to deal with abrasion but with glides i dont feel there is any real reason to worry about that. Knot strength is the limiting factor on fluorocarbon so going heavier on that makes sense. No info on the mother... Is the water clear in your Ohio Fisheries. In supper clear water fluorocarbon may be justified but most of the time not. I run a luna 253 and a ryoga 1016, the ryoga is a 6.3 and the luna a 5.- 14 replies

So I have had this wrap for a little while now and I like it. I use the handle to hang it when not in use and done this way the open mesh let's the baits dry. I have not had any bent tails yet, but I am very careful. All my baits have owner covers and so far so good. I don't know that I would want to carry this on the bank but its great as a Coangler to haul my baits around.

When filing the claim do not provide them the replacement receipt from dobyns. Get quotes from tackle warehouse on new rods. On a side note some places let you upgrade when you ship them in and this might be a good opportunity.

Haven't been slinging big baits very long but I had never watched a fish follow a lure for a long way and then just look at you and swim away. Currently the water in ladybird lake (TX) is very clear and I could see a long way down and away from the boat. For that reason I was trying to throw the bait for max distance. I rotated through the 3 baits I brought on vacation and of the 3 two of them the swaiver and Matt lures strong shad produced the most tails. I tried to downsize to the baby hard gill but that seemed to generate no attention. I am guessing that they would smash the gill when guarding fry. I got a lot of landed fish on the followup worm but none of the larger fish I was seeing. Maybe next trip I will bring soft swimbaits to see if they do any better.

I never needed huge line capacity yet but there may be a time. I have a luna 253 and 300 and the 300 is waaaay overkill for my fishing. I got the reel for smaller baits less than 4 oz.

I just got one yet to fish it. Keeping it reEl did an in depth review on youtube.

Heading to Austin next week for spring brake if anyone wants to fish or show me the ropes. Town lake is the current plan.
