  1. Made a trade with SethMuffinson. Trade went well and I think it worked out great for both of us. Man of his word/honest guy.
  2. Would like to learn more about the snaps...What kind of snaps are you guys trusting with the real high dollar swimbaits attached to it?
  3. Thats what i'm talking about! Im trying to put a collection together like this! Whats your secret?
  4. I know you can buy the chin weights at the online tackle shops BUT I am interested in purchasing the belly weights. Butch has helped me in the past but would love to be able to buy them at will. I know Deps makes them in Japan.....maybe someone makes them aftermarket? Its just shaped lead. Really have not found anything online. Any suggestions?
  5. I’m not a local but I fish the lake. I’d throw A rig, single soft swimbaits and cranks around transitions from shallow to deep. Grass edges are good if you find them. If you’re bank fishing, it will limit your options. Current is your best friend on the Tennessee River so check the dam release schedules. Any cast could be a double digit up there. Its one of the best lakes in the south to catch a true giant. Good luck!
  6. I sent a note to Mike hoping to see if he can rectify. From what I’ve heard he’s pretty solid and I believe he will help.
  7. For me, HPH set expectations and got it done within a couple of weeks of the expectations...for a handmade bait as beautiful as his...i’m happy!
  8. Yes.....could provide detail but it’s best to take the high road.
  9. Guys, Ordered a 7 inch slammer 3 months ago from a third party company that I believe is a distributor for Mike. Is this time frame normal? I can’t remember the last time I waited for 3 months for anything to be delivered. This is the first time I have ordered a slammer since I used to get them at the local tackle store. I’m incredibly patient but 3 months doesn’t seem like normal time frames. I’m pretty certain I can call it off and get my money back but after waiting 3 months that’s not what I want to do. Curious what others experiences have been and will take any suggestions.
  10. For those of you that are throwing the Hinkle Shad... what line are you throwing it on? I’m thinking the same set up as the Deps 250 (Hinkle Shad weighs 5.3 oz). Currently, I have 20-25 lb fluoro \ Tranx 400 on the 8’6 LDC White label. Im asking because I’m seeing some guys throw it on braid (even braid with Fluoro leader) and wondering what I’m missing. Thoughts?
  11. Thanks, Matt. I am starting with & already put in the order for the slow sink redear. After reading Carl’s input, I really like his perspective and think my second Hardgill will be the heavy float. I could see this bait excel over grass that hasn’t topped out yet out on the Tennessee River lakes and get crushed when thrown down the sides of docks. Any other scenarios where this bait excels?
  12. Thanks for the response. That existing post has some good insight. I know the bait is highly regarded here. Hoping to hear from the Hardgill experienced SU community to get some perspective on the sink rates then compare the various viewpoints. Thanks all!
  13. What’s everyone’s favorite sink rate on this bait and why?
  14. I’ve ordered two already from that ebait site... hopefully it’s legit. Just checked mikes actual site and ebait is listed as a retailer..that’s a bit relieving.
  15. Has anyone ever bought a slammer off of ebait.com? I thought ebait.com was Mikes site. Obviously, I was wrong!
  16. Since I fish the southern blueback herring lakes, I'm going to say the Triple trout and the Sebile magic swimmer. The big herring eating spots cant stand those baits burned just under the surface and I have landed some world class spots with those baits.
  17. In your opinion, What do you consider the “best swimbait of all time” and why? A tough one for sure...No right or wrong answer... just one for the books!
  18. Thanks for the response. It shouldn't be hard for your users (us) to adjust to the change. It will be good in the long run.
  19. Is there any way to change from the mobile site to the standard site? I'm stuck on the mobile.
  20. Thanks, guys. I went for the Tranx 400AHG. It's the 7.6:1 Also, picked up the double paddle handle. Don't think I could get used to the big power crank that comes with the 400AHG. Looking forward to getting the new combo out on the water!
  21. 14 lb test! Man, you are braver than me! I am throwing 20-25 lb test. Think the 300 would handle that size line or should I bump up to the 400?
  22. Thanks for the input on the reel speed. Second question.... Thinking about a Shimano Tranx for my Deps 250 set up. Would you go 300 size or 400 size and why?
  23. Putting together my perfect Deps 250 setup. Certainly not an expert and I am always learning...I have my own ideas on this but want to see what the SU community uses for the reel. I have the LDC white label workshop 8'6" XH and pairing it with a slower 5:1 or 5.8:1 reel for the torque that comes with lower gear ratios. In your opinion, are there benefits to having a faster reel and if so, what are they in your experience?
