  1. It's possible! Used to fish the Small Water Angler Teams (S.W.A.T) Jon boat club and fished a couple club tournaments on cedar creek. You fish out there much? There are a load of smaller (800 acres or less) lakes all over Georgia that are healthy and have quality fish in them that this boat is perfect for.... like Cedar Creek.
  2. It's a 2008 14 ft alumacraft flat bottom Jon boat. Really just a regular old Jon boat but added wood decking, carpet, built in live well system, 5 batteries supporting two electrical systems(one for the back two trolling motors and one for the front. With a little planning and elbow grease, you could build out the same set up. It fishes two perfectly. Each person has their own deck. I've had two limits of fish in the wells. It's will go about 5 mph and I have never lost juice even after fishing all day due to the way I have the batteries set up. The two trolling motors in the back are locked down in the forward direction and are connected to a foot switch at the front where I can turn them on and off. I use them only to move longer distances. The front trolling motor gets the most use and acts as the main steering. When I fish this boat, my line is in the water at a much higher percentage than when I'm running around in the Ranger. I think there is something to that as I have some of my best sacks weighed out of that boat. It's forces you to fish more thoroughly by limiting your option to pick up and run across the lake. A fun and unique boat that I will keep and maintain as long as I can. Glad you like it!
  3. Thanks, man! I love it! I get on to all kinds of little lakes out here in the south, Public and private. Lakes that have big ones. My PB came in that boat from a private 400 acre trout stocked lake (where I do most of my big bait fishing) Before I got the Ranger, I used to enter into the big boat tournaments and win em out of the little jon boat! It can get super shallow where the glass boat can't! It is really a great boat! That's an old photo too. I have two 12v 55 lb minn kotas on the back and then an 24v 80 lb minn kota on the front. Humminbird 1199 with functional side imaging, Power pole micro. Livewells are stellar...Never lost a fish in the well. Seriously more pounds of fish per dollar spent out of that boat than any other boat i've owned.
  4. Ranger Z521C w Yamaha SHO. AND my invaluable, more pounds per dollar spent, 14 ft all electric aluminum jon boat. Will never sell this. Even has a humminbird 1199 and a power pole! (not in photo)
  5. Tested the bait with belly weights drilled out and it floats with the dorsal and tail fin just breaking the surface. Might have an application. Anyone else have any success with a Deps setup a bit lighter to where it just barely floats with fins poking the surface?
  6. Not converting an SK to an SS...bought a used SS and the previous owner drilled a hole in each belly weight to decrease the baits weight so the total weight is 5.9 oz. would like to get it back up to 6.3 oz or higher. It's a new version SS and I have heard that the new ones sink slower already. Want it to be at least at the stock weight if not a bit heavier than the stock weight. Tungsten putty might get a bit messy, no?
  7. Thanks for the input on the lip weight. Does anyone know where you can get the Deps belly weights specifically for the 250?
  8. Where do you guys get the belly weights that folks use to tune the Deps 250s? Also, I am seeing the lip weights in my searches...How do the lip weights change the action? Worth tinkering with these along with the belly weights? (if I can ever find them) Y'all's experiences will help me decide where and what I should buy/should do. Thanks!
  9. I'm thinking it will match the hatch in the herring lakes we have in the south. Once things start warming up and the brush bite becomes a solid pattern again, I'm going to burn the Mullet over the brush piles and see if I can get the big ones to raise on it!!
  10. If you hit the saltwater by boat, this is the toughest time of year depending on the water clarity but you can still catch small snook and reds in the mangroves throwing big hammer swimbaits...white, chartreuse and brown/gold flake are all good colors. If you don't have access to a boat, jack crevalle bite along the sea walls can be a blast... Big ones show up in those canals on the sea walls too. I'd throw sebiles in the 110-145mm sizes in white or halo greenie. Spanish Mackerel are an option on the ocean side of Marco. They will eat anything flashy and fast if you are around em! That area is awesome! Spent many of my younger years fishing the mangroves and sea walls down there!! Never bass fished down there because the inshore saltwater fishing opportunities are really the best deal. Also, Make sure you visit the snook inn and get a grouper sandwich! PM me if you think I can help further!
  11. Who is catching em on the Deps 250 Mullet color? Do bass eat this color? We have loads of striper in the lakes on this side of the country and knowing bass I'm assuming they eat baby striper if given the opportunity. Would love to hear everyone's experiences with this color bait....fresh or saltwater!
  12. Does anyone have any replacement tails? Ideally, Black tails but will consider other colors. I know I could just use trick worms but want to have some original tails as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Has anyone had any experience with the Okuma SBX XXH 7'11 swimbait rod? Link is below. Too stiff? http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Okuma_SBX_Swimbait_Casting_Rods/descpage-SBX.html Any information on this rod would even helpful.
  14. Looking for some opinions...Realizing I am undergunned with the current rods I own for the Deps 250 that I just bought. To start, my thoughts are something inexpensive like the Okuma Guide Select or the Diawa DX. If these are good, which one between the two? If they aren't good, what would you all suggest?
  15. When you say JDM sites, what are you referring to? Googled it and saw a couple different sites and would like to make sure I'm looking in the right places.
  16. TR, I am interested. PM me when you have them. What's everyone's opinion on the OGs vs the New? What is best?
  17. Does anyone know why these are so hard to find? Does Deps not make them anymore? Seems like every store is out of stock. Would love to find one in the natural trout or stocker trout. eBay has some but not the colors im looking for. Direction on finding these would be greatly appreciated!
  18. Not as fancy as some of the Cali based collections but here's what I've been throwing from the southeastern US. More herring, threadfin and gizzards than trout but we do have trout stocked lakes down here.
  19. Won't let me PM you..I would like to buy them. Best way to communicate?
