  1. If anyone has a F5 ghost code 7'10" 1-4 oz they want to sell for a reasonable price hmu. Thanks!
  2. What are specific things you like on a rat? Certain swims, sounds, profiles, way it sits in the water, number of pieces? I've only thrown a spro rat and want to build some. Just wondering peoples favorite qualities to try out.
  3. I've had the 806 fury for a few years now and it's been my main treble rod. I haven't had any issues with guides or any other problems. Really enjoy the rod and for the price it's hard to beat for those 2-5 oz glides

I have a little bit of time with the 9" glide and I really like it. Definitely a slower glide as 168 Rookie said.
  5. I have the okuma guide select xh and it's definitely a jig hook bait rod. Wouldn't recommend for hard baits.
  6. Definitely not the best for that. Been throwing 8" huds with it lately and I don't think I'd go much lighter then them at about 4 oz
  7. Good. I was about to have to buy them lol
  8. So are the "a" series xh and the select custom xh the same blank? I see they are rated to a lot different weights? The "a" is rated 2-10 oz while the custom is rated 2.5-6 oz? Or what's the difference in the rods besides the grip/looks?
  9. So the XH is soft enough for trebles? Do you ever throw huds on it or just the H? I have a dobyns 806 I throw a lot of my treble hook baits but don't care to throw jig hooked baits on it
  10. Noted. Won't get the xxh lol. Let me know with the xh if you think it'll throw the 10" hud or other baits around 7 oz alright. Do you throw treble baits or just jig hook baits with it?
  11. I am looking for a rod that can throw 8" huds or other jig hook baits in that size range but also throw 10" huds. I was looking at the okuma guide select custom black swimbait rod in the xx heavy. It says it's rated for 3.5-10 oz. I was wondering if anyone has put any time into them yet. What is the action like? Is it more of a jig hook rod or big hard bait rod? Also what is the difference between the guide select black and the one with cork handle, or is that it? Any input is appreciated! Also if there is a rod in the $150-200 that you think is a better fit for the job I am open to any suggestions.
  12. The only thing with teeth in there are walleye. I suppose it could have been one but it would have had to perfectly head shot the bait and line cause I didn't feel a thing
  13. Wouldn't the line look a little kinked or something? The line looks clean. Like it was just cut.
  14. So I would say I'm fairly new to swimbait fishing still. Started about 5 years ago but took 4 year break lol. Well anyways I have started throwing them whenever I get a chance lately. I haven't had any luck with fish in the limited bank access I've had lately but I have been having some problems that are taking my confidence slowly. A few weeks ago I got a spro Chad shad and I was really liking the action buuuut I casted it off second time using it. I think I tied a bad knot so I'll take the blame for that one. So I ordered another one and took it out a couple days ago and then again today. Well I threw it for about 30 minutes and then made a cast. I worked the bait for about 10 feet then it was just gone?!?! Twitch twitch twitch, twitch with no lure? Didn't feel a bite, wasn't close to cover, didn't snap off on the cast, I honestly have no idea what happened. From the research I have done the lake doesn't have musky or pike. Since I casted the one off I had been checking my line pretty constantly. Also it was a clean break. No frays or knot bends or anything like that. I prefer braid to leader for most of my fishing so I have been throwing 65lb bread to 25 lb mono. Any ideas as to what happened or anyone had something similar happen?
  15. Dang I wish I lived closer, I'd totally get that 867.
  16. Just got a spro Chad shad from tackle warehouse and already casted it off second time throwing it. Felt like I was just starting to get the feel for how to work it. Anyways, if anyone has one in threadfin, gizzard, or trout I would like to buy one. Can be new or used.
  17. So how big of swimbaits did you find to be effective for browns? I was thinking maybe a 6" bait but don't know when they start getting a little too big to get consistent hookups?
  18. I picked up a S-Waver 120 on my last tackle warehouse order because i have been having a hard time catching any decent size trout with conventional trout gear. I had been seeing a bunch of videos and pictures on Instagram that had big brows with other smaller stocker trout down their throat and it got me thinking, if I throw swimbaits for bass why wouldn't I do it for big trout too. Well after a week or so of throwing the waver around on and off I finally got one to eat. My PB brown trout at 25 1/2". Also it was dark and rainy so the picture is kinda grainy.
  19. First smallie on a swimbait if you count a 6" mag. Just moved to western nc so first time really being around small mouth. Little dink but it's a start
