  1. Garrett Blaire (Canyon Rods) also makes customs.
  2. 9" Battles shad in nightmare color is becoming my go-to night fishing bait. The moon was bright and thought that the HPH would impress the bass with its flash so I threw that for a bit as well. Caught the biggest on the HPH and second biggest on the battles shad.
  3. That's amazing! I love lowbrow baits... That trout looks so unique.

  5. Haha thanks man! Yeah it's just a channel mostly for myself to relive some of those exciting moments Still feels good though if at least a handful of people out there can enjoy it too.

I'll share some of my HPH catches...caught 50-60 fish (a lot of dinks) but these were just few memorable ones where they just completely clobbered the bait. There are 3 pictures of me fighting the fish, the fish spat the bait a foot from the net, and I caught the fish with the net on her way down. You can clearly see the bait flying from the fish's mouth as the fish thrashed in mid-air. There is one other crazy story I have with an HPH: I threw the bait towards a bluff wall and saw a fish torpedoed away from the bluff wall to chase the bait. Unfortunately, I saw the fish too late and had already lifted the bait out of the water. The fish stopped underneath the bait and was just staring at it for a few seconds. I was puzzled that the fish did not dart back to its lair. So I dipped the bait back in the water, and as soon as the bait touched the water, the fish hammered the bait HARRRRDDDD. That fish is shown in the picture with me wearing a PFD, t-shirt, and swimming trunks. I was on the kayak with an Okuma SBX rod. I wish I had started recording my fishing outing then because it was unreal.
  7. Also, don't waste your $500. Save it and and get the kayak you want when you have the money. If the $500 is non-negotiable, I would get a used Ascend FS12T. That was my first kayak, and it's quite stable for what it is.
  8. Get a used Hobie PA 12. You can get a used one for 1500-2200 depending on the pedal drive, model year, and conditions. I'm on the 2017 Hobie PA 12 and I like it for swimbaiting. I can stand on one leg, pedal with the other, and keep on casting down the bank. Skip to the end of the video when I talk about the kayak setup.

Most productive glide bait I own.
  10. Yep landed the tarpon. I hooked the one I landed on a snowflake 9" WCZ battles shad. Here are the vids. Part 4 is when I landed the big one (1 hour and 20 minutes fight). I got lucky because the line guide on the levelwind came off mid-fight (part 3) and the drag stopped working an hour into the fight (locked up then no drag for the remainder of the fight). I was very lucky that the line didn't break when the drag locked up for a few seconds.
  11. Trip got cancelled. The group I was supposed to go with bailed and they couldn't accommodate just one person...FML. Still planning to go probably later this year early next year instead. Thanks everyone for the tip. I guess this gives me more time to prep.
  12. lmao I saw that video a long time ago...didn't know it was you two at the time.

    Jiu jitsu

I used to 3-5 times a week when I was in school for 5 years. Hurt my back, then picked up rock climbing.
  14. Thanks so much for the input!!!
  15. Should I worry about throwing big glides on straight braid? I feel like that's a bad idea. hahaha I hate braid unless I have to use it like on drop shot/ flipping/ pitching/ frogging.
  16. I'll be fly fishing for them on the parana river as well. Thanks for the info!
