  1. I read a few of the suggestions on here but I just wanted to double check with you guys any last suggestions to repair these two baits. The 86 has a crack along the last half inch of tail slot support. It’s still holding but i want to make sure it’s secured. The sly guy has the last half inch of the tail slot broken off and I do not have the piece, note the swim is ok without it but the tail is not secured well. Thanks for the help!
  2. Can someone describe why you like the round knobs rather than flat? I purchased a reel off here with a hawgtech handle with round knobs and my fingers slipped off those knobs constantly so I took it off. I’m just confused what the benefit would be with the handles pictured above.
  3. Thanks, I didn’t realize those had been up for awhile, SU disregard!
  4. In my experience with them they are similar to a crankbait where out of four I have one that runs perfectly (XSS) and three that I have issues nosing up. The “one” is incredibly controllable and stabile for a bait of that price but like I said it’s one of multiple. I’m going to be playing with my others over the holidays to see if I can improve them. I’ll let you know if i find anything that works.
  5. There’s lots of good camping spots, a float tube is a good option for some of the lakes back in the woods. Or at least waders, as the shorelines can be steep and or thick with brush.
  6. I’ve seen a 10 come out of AEP a few years ago.
  7. There are some giants in AEP. I’d be very confident throwing large swimbaits in any of those lakes, they are crystal clear.

    Thoughts

I haven’t been a part of the SU group for a ton of time so take my thoughts with a grain of salt but in my opinion it all depends on the base of the bait (intent of the bait). In the case of swim worm, it is a worm first with a boot tail modification making it a worm in my eyes. Same thinking I would use to call a teckel sprinkler a frog and not a swimbait just because it has a boot tail. I also don’t see why it would be a problem to post a 10lber caught on a 3” dark sleeper or keitech here. To me you adjusted to the conditions and caught a giant on a bait that’s intended to be a swimbait. Got’ em!
  9. I’m from NE Ohio but live in Houston now. I wish I threw more swimbaits when I was in Ohio!
  10. A halfway decent rain suit that never leaves the boat has saved more than a couple outings for me.
