I recently bought a deps 175 but didn’t realize it was a floating model. I got some tungsten putty to adjust the sink rate of the bait. So, I took the front skin off and I tried to put some tungsten putty over of the two preplaced weights because I couldn’t find anywhere else. However, the tail part still floats up wile the head is sinking, which makes it uneven. Is there a way I can make the tail part sink also?

Should I use the deps branded tuning weights? Or use something like a tungsten putty?

How would you mod it so it sinks?

I don’t know if this is the place to post this, but I picked up a deps 175 ss for $45.89! This is kind of an impulse buy because I saw the price was so low. I didn’t do much research about this bait beforehand. I see a bunch of good things said about the 250 but nothing about the 175. Does anyone have experience with this bait?

Thank you. Do you think the 9 inch version would be too big for the fish around here. A 6 pounder is considered massive.

Does anyone have experience with these swimbaits? I was looking into getting one but I’m wondering if there are better soft plastic swimbait options. I’ve read good things about the Rising Son on here too.

Thank you for your feedback. I messaged the guy and he said that he has 30 lb braid spooled up on it. I’m thinking of replacing the braid with either 20# Izorline or 20# Big game. Should I keep the braid on or replace it?
