LOL, wow. Nowadays, I am pretty sure you guys have nitrile or latex gloves lying around. Just twist the base around it until it wraps around snug. Once you feel that pressure or leverage, turn the wrench lefty loosey and it should unthread relatively quickly. It will not scratch the paint or leave adhesive marks.

Exactly, in the blog they write that this isn’t for the flippers, you know it’s going to happen. But that flipper price is only worth it if someone’s willing to pay it. And for over $1k I could have so much more other toys to mess with .

Updates. Rod is wrapped. Only had enough time to pool test. Loading up the deps 250 was a breeze. Does not feel underpowered what so ever. I’m able to cast with precision on the 6.5oz lure. Going to give it a real break in soon. IMG_1778.MOV

Im on your boat. I want to hear opinions on it as well. All i know is that the "for the beast" series had a collaboration with DRT, using the DRT reel seat and wrapping. With studio composite being the carbon fiber specialist and DRT being who they are, that rod is an absolute BEAST. It is what it is. Looking at pricing which is around $700 us im sure only a certain handful will even pickup the rod and actually use it. Otherwise its another trophy piece that sits behind the glass.
